Easy answer here -- anyone critical of Congresswoman Omar is going to be labeled and possibly physically attacked as a Racist Islamaphobe. That's pretty much gives her the latitude to say/do anything she wants ...... the US House even voted in favor of that.
Yep. the democrats are nothing if not predicable....

It would have been better for everybody if she never left her birthplace in Mogadishu. She should go back home.
And yet, this country is still "besties" with Saudi Arabia, trading nuclear secrets and whatnot.

Spare us the pearl-clutching.

That's the tactic leftists take to silence opposing views. I complained about Linda Sansour's association with the bigot Farrakhan, and I was told - by a leftist, of course - that I was anti-Muslim to say such a thing.

I honestly think we've been conditioned over the past few years. Because people have stopped attacking ideas in favor of attacking people, and since it's verboten to condemn women and/or Muslims - she's got a double protective bubble wrap around her.

It's not that she's inarticulate. It's not that she has not filter. It's that some of her beliefs are whack that concerns me.

Tempest in a teapot.

They were, in fact, "some people" who did "something". Some horrible people who did a terroristic, despicable thing. Pretty sure everyone knows that.

Every time anyone refers to the holocaust do they have to say "the horrible mass murder that was the holocaust perpetrated by the biggest monster the modern world has ever seen"? No, they just say "the holocaust".

It was an inadvisable choice of words - she should have just said "the 9/11 attacks" or similar, but this is much ado about nothing in my opinion.

Why don't more Americans condemn her?

I'll flip that question to ask: Are people condemning her for what she has said, or because she's a member of the Muslim faith?

Oh, and PS - Congresswoman should not be in quotes. She is, indeed, a duly elected member of Congress, whether you like it or not.

They had the chance with the recent attempt at making a statement regarding condemnation of anti-semitism and they totally pussed out and watered it down to pretty much nothing.

Sadly , this is where our country has come to. I'm sure a fair amount could care less that she say's things like that and would actually defend her. Shame....

Most likely the latter. Some of the more well known Islamophobes on CD are posting away. Plenty of double standards going around here.

I'd like to see some of these folks throwing red-meat in anger about Omar's words also condemn folks like Trump for his anti-Semitic tweets and words:

https://forward.com/schmooze/351765/...debate-tweets/

I'd also like to see some of these outraged folks ranting about "terrorism" tell House Rep Peter King, who has long supported the IRA in its violent fight against the British. The British told him to stuff it when he came over to hector them about fighting terrorism.
