The news media absolutely adored her early on and continues to softball her at every turn. They seem to like her for some reason and they constantly report on her.
Despite being the new kid on the block, her social media presence is massive. Her Twitter https://twitter.com/AOC has over 4 million followers, which is comparable to the well established, Trump made more famous and running for POTUS Senator Elizabeth Warren. She streams on Twitch -- a lot. She isn't just hip with the younger generation, she is one of them.
Now take the fact that she is an actual "capitalism is evil" Marxist to her core and you have built the ultimate Republican boogieman.
