DENVER — Colorado lawmakers will not change the state’s immunization laws this session.
Senate staffers confirm HB-1312 has been laid over until Friday. That does not give it enough time to pass the General Assembly.
The Health Department took the unusual step earlier this month of issuing an emergency order requiring unvaccinated people in affected neighborhoods to get the measles, mumps and rubella, or MMR, vaccine unless they could otherwise show they had immunity.
The 12 people issued summons for defying the order must attend a hearing and face a fine of up to $1,000 if found to be noncompliant.
___
By what method of investigation were these people determined noncompliant? And why was this not reported in the MSM?
Very happy that the Colorado bill died yesterday! It was poorly written and poorly thought out. there were privacy concerns, interference in the doctor patient relationship, etc.

Any other network cover it? MSNBC, CNN, ABC, FOX? Any newspapers pick it up? NYT, WaPo, others? Nope. Not that I could find.
How were these people identified? Who identified them? How did "whoever" identify them know they were in contact with someone with measles? What method of investigation was used? It does NOT say in the article. You are 100% making that up.
If anyone can find another article that is not a copy of the Reuters article, many thanks. Would really like additional info.

Agreed. I think it was clear it would've been vetoed in its current form.
I would guess they are circling the wagons to introduce a less invasive bill for next session.
IMO, medical insurance premiums should go up for those who do not get recommended vaccinations. These people are increasing medical costs.
Yeah, like the over $800,000 hospital bill to treat a child with tetanus - whose parents refused to let him finish the vaccine series after vaccines helped save his life.

"The city has also issued summonses to 57 residents of Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood — where more than 80 percent of the city’s cases have occurred — for refusing to get themselves or their children vaccinated.
Each summons can lead to a fine of up to $1,000 — or double that if the person it is issued to does not appear in court."
No, I am not making it up. Measles is reportable. A doctor who treats it must notify the health department, who then sends someone to talk with the family and find out who may have been in contact with the sick person during the time just before the rash appeared and the symptomatic stage. Those people were identified by someone in a family where there is a person with measles.
Note that measles mandates immediate reporting by phone.
