Flint is a failed community. Nothing they do is done well. The reason the state took it over is because it has failed on a grand scale. If you had ever seen this community or met people from that region you would understand. There is depression and despair in the air there. No one wants to be there, nor do they want to be in the area around it’s suburbs. There is no local pride, no reason for anyone to care about Flint. Many who live there are focused simply on getting out. You can buy a house for 10k-20k. Think about that. No more money should be pumped into Flint and none should ever have been put in it. Just 70 miles to the south there is an effort to revive Detroit. Residents of flint should have been bought out and encouraged to move to Detroit and its burbs where things are economically better and more hope exists. Flint is hopeless.
