Go back to school for reading comprehension. .... no ... Trumpies disdain a good education, so nevermind.

A recession that didn't have to happen but we all are going to have to suffer through because of Trump. The next 3-5 years are going to be especially perilous no matter if Trump wins or loses. He's literally destroying everything great about our country. Too bad 40% of Americans are too drunk on their hatred against gay people and brown people to see it.

I don't see anything of the kind. They're stating the obvious. How is that hoping and wishing? If it does happen, you can thank Trump for his contribution with his idiotic tone deaf policies.

And yet here we have the highest consumer confidence level since November 2000.

We all know a recession is coming, as they always do, What we need to know is when.
and the people who can accurate predict that are the people who will be very, very rich.

A recession began in March 2001 - just 4 months after November 2000.

Just for the record, do you, or don't you want a recession?

No, I don't "want" one. But we are probably due for one anyway, so I'm not surprised that one appears it might be setting up. If we do get one, it would be "nice" if it disproportionately affected Trump voters.

FWIW, on the political angle, I was actually expecting that a recession would occur sometime in the current POTUS's term no matter who was elected in 2016. Starting around 2015 it was getting clear that the expansion was getting long in the tooth and was starting to exhibit some late-cycle behavior. So when Trump won I was surprised but not all that upset because I thought there was a high probability of a recession no matter who was elected, and I'd rather have it happen under Trump (though I was no fan of Hillary either).

However, I would like to add that, if we do get one before Trump's term is over, I will be "yuck yuck yuck" because the Trump cultists have spent so much time screaming about how great the economy has been since he took office (especially since it hasn't really been any different than under Obama). I will laugh seeing the Trumplings get all nervous and defensive if we start seeing negative job and GDP growth next year.
