So why aren’t the Republicans willing to put it down that ANYONE going forward that gets information from foreign powers has to report it to FBI?
I don’t give a crap if it’s a Democrat or Republican we should all be ok with passing that this is NOT ok nor tolerated now and in the future.
I agree, this should not be a Democrat vs Republican issue, but an American issue instead. It's about decency, the rule of law, and just doing the right thing. But because this country is so divided, this is where we are today.
Hillary Clinton and the Democrats actually did it. Trump and the Republicans did not. It is that straight forward.
Forunately we have a real AG who is apparently looking into these matters now that the Mueller investigation is over and effectively cleared Trump.
No...not quite.
Fusion GPS was originally hired by a Republican. Not by Hillary Clinton or the Democrats.
Fusion GPS was an American company, headquartered in DC, not a foreign company.
The FBI was fully aware of the Steele dossier.
Trump Jr had a meeting with Russian operatives, representing the Russian government, proffering dirt on Clinton. So, actually, you have it backwards. Trump's campaign did it. Clinton's campaign did not.
Too funny! You people will lose it when he wins reelection. So much for your fake outrage.
This has nothing to do with his re-election or not. This has to do with what we should expect from an American President and politician and if you are ok with it you will not be when this becomes ok and it happens to help the Party you are against.
Stop this Left vs Right BS and think of the USA first.

Nor did they offer their information in exchange for some future consideration. It was a business deal. Money was exchanged in return for services.
Despite the constant gaslighting attempts, there is a world of difference between paying for research from a company and accepting "free campaign" assistance from Putin and his pals.

Steele was an agent of a FOREIGN GOVERNMENT. The "dirt" on Trump was bought and paid for by the Clinton campaign (or perhaps the DNC-which is the same during the election).
Of course distinguishing between a primary election and the general is something that's a bit much for Dems. What the Republicans did concerning Steele to impact the primary was wrong-much like feeding one candidate debate questions is. But still pales compared to doing so in the general election.
A conservative website, the Washington Free Beacon, said in 2017 it first started paying Fusion GPS to do background research on Trump and other candidates during the heated GOP presidential primary. That research was funded by GOP donor Paul Singer. The Free Beacon said its relationship with the firm ended before Fusion hired Steele.
Steele did not work for the British government at the time. The FBI had also made payments to him over an unknown period of time and listed him as a confidential source. His work, accuracy aside, was considered legal. https://news.yahoo.com/trump-foreign...152705431.html
The dossier was bought and paid for by Republicans from an American company who hired Steele, a Brit.
How can people be so willfully dense? I'd be embarrassed. Thanks goodness I have kids and grandkids who know fact from fiction and would set me straight.
