No, we will not all be "bellowing for war". I've been very vocal against those who keep blaming Iran for everything because government has been after Iran for a very long time, and it's all BS.

Something is off about this. What on earth would be the reason for them to do this? Germany was just there, Japan is there right now, trying to ease tensions. They have nothing to gain and everything to lose by doing this.

Some nation states have been after Iran for decades, claiming that their ability to create nuclear weapons was just a few years away...and that was back in the fricken 90s.

It isn't adding up.

None of you have pointed out the obvious.

Canada is a huge exporter of petroleum, they have a lot to gain from higher prices.....plus they just *look* shifty.

Help me out somebody, throw up a link to "Blame Canada".

I wouldn't say "parroting" I'm pretty sure the part about blaming nations without submarines was their own excellent contribution to the theory.

Good grief.
Yes, in this case it is defending itself. Also nobody knows what has happened with the tankers yet, least of all who did what.

Most likely. Neither have submarines yet as far as anybody knows. Torpedoes can be launched from ships, but neither the UAE or SA have torpedoes of that range, so the ship launching them would have been identified.

The average NPR contributor on these matters are avid Jane's International Defence Review readers I am sure (lol).

Iran has the subs, the technology, the will to use them, and the proven history of such.

How do you know this? Or are you just making things up?

Yea... but...

Can Canada spare ALL THREE people in its navy all at one time?

I'm retired Navy, spent time in that part of the world, interested in the topic. Personally came within a few seconds of shooting down an Iranian helicopter with a Stinger missile in 1989, but was commanded to stand down, hence my ongoing interest.

Try Jane's Defense Weekly for a source.

Plus Google.
