Trump doesn't need congress to approve a military strike on Iran !!! Defeat of the fearmongers !!!
Foolish amendment fails !!!

60 Yea votes needed and with 41 no votes on record now it can't pass.

Congress isn't known for quick action and sometimes it takes them decades before they act on something even when there is agreement on what should be done.

Senate may vote early Friday to require Trump to get approval for …

The vote is on a Democrat-authored amendment to require President Donald Trump get congressional approval before carrying out military action against Iran.

Senate to vote on requiring congressional approval for military strikes
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/senate-...itary-strikes/

The Senate is meeting early on Friday to vote on an amendment that would require President Trump to seek congressional approval before ordering military strikes. The amendment is not expected to get the 60 votes necessary to pass, but was forced by Democrats to get lawmakers on the record on the issue amid rising tensions with Iran.
Congress declares war, not the President. The AUMF is unConstitutional.

That's about the most un-American thing I've seen posted here in a long time.
It bothered you so much you voted for the war monger Obama who did the very thing you are against. The very definition of hypocritical thinking.

That's like comparing a potato to an orange when talking about starting a moronic war with Iran.
You didn't mention Libya. Gee I wonder why? oh that's right, there were no boots on the ground so it's not a war. Just like Pearl Harbor.

A quick and decisive military strike can be a deterrent to war !!!

A long drawn out debate about it in congress encourages our adversaries to attack us !!!
They could attack us repeatedly before congress comes to any agreement and as we have seen the democrats have no desire to defend America or Americans !!! Without borders we are not a country but just a place on the map anyone can occupy !!!
Sigh.. a quick and decisive military attack IS war.

Who said that it didn’t matter back then? Obama never proposed to attack a nation that would end up giving us an an whipping. Big difference.

Is this issue a problem or not? Or you know...it’s fine if Trump just unilaterally decides to take us into a war with Iran that we both know we can’t win?

Pearl Harbor was WWII.

We didn’t invade Syria.

We created ISIS and frankly had a responsibility to bomb the **** out of them.
