The President responding to attacks from those who have declared war on the US before congress acts is within the power of his authority to defend the US. Having an offense is part of having a defense unless the weak minded people believe retreat is the only defense that can be chosen !!! If any enemy knew that it would encourage them to continue attacking !!!
Responding to an act of war isn't the same as starting a war !!!

We armed them directly. And even if we didn't (we did) you would have to be an absolute idiot to not understand that they would get the arms. That's what always happens.
So, OP, you want our president to be able to do whatever he wants anywhere in the world without having to answer to anyone? Is that REALLY what you want? Do you hate this country so much you would hand over complete and unrestricted power to executive branch with absolutely no checks or balances allowed from the other EQUAL branches of government?
