An interesting discussion. I'd argue that the president does hold the most "conventional" power under our Constitution. Yes, each branch is powerful in its own right and it really takes all three to work together, but the president is a unitary entity, whereas you have to get hundreds of congresspeople on board to get something done...and even then their legislation is subject to the approval or veto by the president (yes the veto can be overridden but it's an extremely tall task), whereas the president can direct agencies and government action via executive order where authorised by law. Structurally, Congress is probably the most powerful branch as a whole, but realistically I can only think of one time in history (reconstruction led by Congress) where there was enough unity for Congress to exercise this power, something that the framers were keenly aware of when they drafted the constitution. Of course, Congress was only able to do what it did during reconstruction as several states were forcibly without congressional representation following the Civil War.
I'm betting even the newest most inexperienced slip and fall lawyer knows its the President that nominates the SCOTUS justices !!! That is one of the most important jobs any President will ever do if they get the opportunity and Trump has gotten two of them on the court !!!
No, we have 3 branches of government. Checks and balances.
I'll agree. The POTUS is supposed to be the president for all of us. Not just his base.
More nonsense !!! Who comes up with these false talking points !!!
Its the language of division solving nothing !!!
Show us the President that has satisfied everyone on everything they have done !!!
Elections have consequences if people want to be represented they can get on board the issue positions and promises the elected one campaigned on !!!
No President can represent everyone on everything !!! Total bovine excrement to believe otherwise !!!
Those complaining can chose to be represented by supporting the Presidents positions !!!
All behind one, b/c one can't be behind all, or they wouldn't get elected !!! Totally impossible !!!
If the President represented everyone there wouldn't be a need for elections !!!
Anyone would do !!!
But he did collect 150k of federal funding earmarked for small businesses negatively affected by 911 even though his business was not. Always the patriot lol.

True. And thank God for Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh! Of course, Congress can always refuse to confirm said nominees. The president can always name a recess appointment but Congress ultimately decides when it's in recess. Of course, given the competing factions and different ideologies in Congress, that body is rarely ever to get things done. So, by default (tho not by structure) the president is the most powerful.
i am my own best evidence that this is a false statement.
"I was down there also, but I'm not considering myself a first responder," Trump said. "But I was down there. I spent a lot of time down there with you."
i expect that kellyanne will come on to translate this as "he was there in spirit...... so it's a true statement".

Nowhere did I state that the POTUS had a duty to satisfy the wants of all citizens.
But, on some level, the POTUS needs to recognize that the wants and needs of the people who didn't vote for him have to be taken into consideration. What you purpose is a winner take all strategy. That is not productive in a republic.

Congress? They have nothing to do with it. Senate confirms SC nominees. And since they GOP had the majority any nominee was an odds on favorite for confirmation.
