And the vast majority of those shootings take place in the ghettos. Not in schools, not in theatres, not in office buildings. They happen in places where gangs are prevalent. Mass shootings refer to shootings of multiple people getting shot in places where you don't expect them to get shot. Stuff like Columbine, the Aurora theatre shooting, Sandy Hook Elementary. Those kind of shootings feature one or two people whose goal is to shoot as many people as they can all at one. These shootings by Black males are not "shoot as many as you can". It's "shoot whatever rival gang members are there" or multiple people getting shot because the shooters are horrible marksmen.

The truth about mass shootings is that most of the are by black people against black people. Even the NY Times posted a report stating (buried in the middle of the article) that around 75% of mass shootings are done by blacks, and we are the victims at the same rate.
Most mass shootings are done by a much higher percentage of people who were raised in single parent families. We know for a fact than those who are raised in single parent families commit a much higher percentage of crime.
There is a problem in the black community with crime and it has nothing to do with being black.
Good argument, just completely ignore the underlying problem. I know that I can't wait for the decrease in single parent families, the increase in high school/college graduation rates, the increase in per captia income, and the decrease in crimes committed once more strict gun control measures are brought to bear to "solve the problem".
Do your grandkids occasionally attend funerals, neighborhood parties, or maybe just hang out on their front porch? Or, as you mentioned, maybe a night out at the movies? Yeah, shootings happen in all those places too, and not just the "big publicity" mass shooting kind. Gang shootings, random shootings, etc. So rather than trying to give different instances of mass violence different labels depending on race and/or fatalities, how about we just focus on the fact that these types of crimes can happen anywhere, and be perpetrated by anyone, regardless of their racial background. That'd be nice.
Plenty of kids in my town get caught in the cross fire. Between gangs and road rage nobody is truly safe anywhere. But IMO, nothing will ever be done about it.
