^^ slash administration. Pay the teachers. Stop crying there’s no money. It’s there, just poorly utilized.
Politicians and school administrators dont have the neccesary profit and loss signals to allocate resources correctly. Its why socialism doesnt work.

You don’t need profit/loss signals to allocate resources. We’ve got a tapeworm in the form of administration.
Question: Do the highest ranked universities tend to be state schools are private ones?
Apples to potatoes.
K-12 isn’t college. If a kid wants to waste their money paying private school rates that’s on them. Given the amount of pay-to-win in private college, I’d consider all their rankings suspect.
By all means though... continue to lobby for raising your property taxes by 2-4x the current rates to pay for private school for all.

I know one that teaches second that has five kids still in diapers (a first)... in a basement classroom...
Between that and wanting to increase classroom size to 30 next year because they don’t want to hire another teacher they’re ready to quit.
There are already districts that take advertising.
If you go into a field, understand the benefits and downsides to the job. That includes salary and TIME OFF. I know tons of people who would love to make teacher salary and have 14 weeks off every single year, PLUS sick time and personal days. But they don't want to teach so they do something else.
Move to make more money, just like everybody else. Or choose a different line of work. Just like everybody else.
There are many districts around Houston where teachers can't get hired because the demand to work there is greater than the number of jobs.
The pay isn't even much different, but the student body and their parents share the same characteristics.
The parents tend to be involved, discipline their children and actually make sure their kids do their homework and study.
Additionally, these districts will take action against disruptive kids.
Kind of like assessing companies when looking for just about any job.
Are there hassles?
Is HR responsive?
Do managers help take care of problems?
Etc.
If a company has a bad rep, people don't want to work there. Just like bad school districts.
