MM - the liberal who knew Trump would win in 2016.

I dislike his politics, but like his realistic assessment of the likely outcomes of political elections.

Perhaps the only thing that could save the dems is a recession. It seems to me Trump fires up voters because he stands for *something*...the dems simply stand against Trump (and a host of other things that just don’t appeal to middle America enough to lock up states dems have traditionally won).

When Bush was selected/elected, it proved that ANYONE can do a job as POTUS since he was only a figurehead/mouthpiece. Why not elect the same to send a message to the “powers that be” that Americans come first and that we don’t want to be FORCED to buy healthcare by the government? Trump didn’t have to be so nasty to illegals with his insults. He should have just run on a nationalism platform and left race/ethnicity out of it. Honestly, those racist appeals though did appeal to his core base since they need to “rule over” someone to feel superior.
Exactly. His platform was illegal immigration. There wasn’t anything more important to his voters than having a guy running for potus that talked about enforcement of immigrant laws so strongly. But he was not nasty to illegals. Illegals are the nasty ones that don’t respect our laws and bring their crime here. They need to go by whatever means.

I’m more concerned about what we’ll be getting after Trump’s second term is over.

Well, everyone said Obama had no chance of winning in 2008 and 2012.

You are surely aware that Odummer increased the Debt more than all other Presidents combined? Did that bother you much?

I'm an independent voter, and have been watching the Democrat candidates and debates closely.

At this point, I'm watching and waiting to see who has good common moderate sense on policies--and if anyone could handle the economy the same as, or better than, Trump.

So far, I think Amy Klobuchar might be the best of the heap, but gotta be honest, they are all mostly total clowns who will say anything at any point to bash Trump or go with the far left yelling.

If the election were held tomorrow, I don't think I could vote for any of the Democrats. Biden *could* have my vote, but come on, gotta be real--the guy is losing it before our eyes. The poor guy is not sharp and can't remember a thing. Warren is concise and talks good bullet points, but there is NO WAY she can win against Trump. Plus I think she is too socialist leaning for my taste.

Trump would win if the election were tomorrow.

Exactly. The GOP options post-Trump look pretty bleak. Maybe a Pence/DeSantis ticket might work?
