The idea that consent is not important is rapist logic. "They'll stop me if they don't like it" wouldn't really hold up in court as consent.

It doesn't matter, this isn't a court or a lovers' relationship and consent is needed at this point.

That's just the thing though, if the illegitimate inquiry wants to override executive privilege where do you think that's headed?

Without that consent, court won't be fun.

How? all the retiring republicans in the house means they'll take over it now? Can I have what you are smoking?

The headline is a lie of gargantuan proportions. Aside from liars lying loudly, there is no "trouble".

Obviously that won't stop some from still suggesting otherwise, but that's just how partisan politics works
Mick Mulvaney's assertion was the first time a White House official has conceded Trump set up a quid quo pro scenario in which money approved by Congress for Ukraine was used as leverage, though he defended the arrangement as standard practice.

I am sure that you are fine with that but I would think that the majority of voters are not.

It's neither "illegitimate", nor "unauthorized", despite your repeated protestations.

Let's cross the executive privilege bridge when we get there, shall we?

So then you're upset at Obama and Biden doing the exact same thing right? Don't just feign outrage when you are told to.

That's a factually inaccurate statement, ther inquiry was not authorized. Now feel free to say that you don't think it should be, just don't lie about it when it's so easy to prove definitively that it wasn't authorized.
