I think there was only one vote, actually. The other two times it didn't make it to the floor. Not that it makes a difference, given that a prior vote not to impeach does not affect the ability to later conduct an impeachment investigation.

Not true.

That subpoena power is non-binding. It is not within the framework of the Judicial System.

Additionally, you need a majority of votes to proceed. That hasn't changed. If that were the case, they would just abandon the voting mechanism completely.

That's why Repubs are in there today, and Adam Schiff knows it, so he folded up his little Dog and Pony Show Tent and ran away.

Elections have consequences!

Had the Repubs NOT lost 40 House seats in 2018 Trump/Repubs wouldn’t be in this Mess!

Maybe the Repubs shoulda passed a law in Oct. 2018 outlawing Impeachment, when they controlled the House and Senate AND had Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court!

That doesn't make sense.
Impeachment is not like a Bill where you change a few words and try again for voting.

Impeachment is rare. And it is rare because is not easily done, until this President was elected. This is the 4th time they have tried, and they have been shouting about it and have even printed T Shirts.

A sitting member of the House shouting " We're going to Impeach the Mother F'er " for all to hear.

BEFORE any Impeachment votes, Inquiry, or what ever name you want to put on it today.

Imagine, a country that is trying to remove a President behind closed doors, and out of sight from the American people AND their duly elected representatives.

You don't have to imagine, it is real.

Jeez
It isn't ?

Well they are moving forward based on the US Constitution which gives them the power to Impeach.

If it isn't Impeachment, by what other Constitutional dictation are they proceeding by ?

Terrible stuff the House Dems are undertaking. Trump's impeachment should be so obvious to all - yet they have to hide what they are doing. Deplorable.

So what you are saying is you don't even know the difference between an investigation and an indictment.

Why should anyone take your opinion seriously when you lack vital basic knowledge and flog that ignorance in a farcical real time display of the Dunning-Kruger effect? Easy answer: they don't.

They probably should not have passed a law increasing taxes on Republican voters. Just a crazy thought here....

Look at how much this thread is blowing up. Anybody who read the 15 page statement from the ambassador knows Trump's chances of impeachment are 100%

Actually, you are wrong on all counts. First, the Supreme Court has long-recognized the power of the House to issue investigatory subpoenas as a corollary to their impeachment powers. A judicial subpoena is an entirely different and completely unrelated thing. Second, there has never been a requirement that an impeachment investigation commence with a full vote of the House. Constitutionally, that is only required for an impeachment vote, not an investigation. Third, House Committee heads have absolute discretion as to who is and is not permitted in the committee room.

So, bucko, 0 for 3.
