Didn't Jesus eat with tax collectors, prostitutes, lepers, and adulterers -- the "freaks and weirdoes" of their day? Besides, if freaks and weirdoes are so disgraceful and heartland, commonsense, normal salt of the earth people are so much smarter, then how come all our cuttingest-edge industries are in places friendly to weirdoes and freaks (even in the South!) while so many common sense salt if the earth dominated areas are in the economic doghouse?
Rational, reasonable stances on any political issue include having a more economically efficient health care system (liberals win here, see every other OECD country for details), healthier air and food and water, allowing workers time to care for sick family members (ok, unpaid leave, but better than nothing, which conservatives fought tooth and nail to prevent), not betraying our allies up and a sudden (Trump and the Kurds, anyone?), not taking a major adversary's word over our on intel program's (Putin and Trump in Helsinki), soft-pedaling at best about bigots, starting a trade war with a nation with economic power beginning to rival our own, going against the scientific consensus about global warming and in fact believing the scientific community is "in on the grand conspiracy", hiring three (not one but three) blatant bigots to help him steer our nation's policies (two gone, but the most blatantly bullheaded one still remains, Steven Miller). I don't see ANY of this from Trump.
And the leaders of the Evangelical movement still support him? Why don't they just admit their most preferred candidate (Cruz) lost, that they don't have the knowledge of God after all, and just admit that some things are more damaging to the faith of a nation than having a Democrat in the WH?
Aren't the remnant supposed to be reviled, rejected and persecuted by the world?
I see a lot of ridicule, rejection, belittlement and disparagement directed at one particular Christian group by today's media, academia, legal institutions, as well as the worldly. And it certainly isn't the postmodernist Christians.
It’s because that one religious group currently runs the entire USA and is trying to impose its will on us all. Most people wouldn’t care about fundamentalist evangelicals if they would stop trying to control what everyone else can and cannot do in their private lives.
That's really insulting. I'm a blue-collar worker who works hard for my family, plays by the rules and teaches my kids the difference between right and wrong. Donald J. Trump does not represent my values. That doesn't make me a freak and weirdo.
Even Jesus himself did not 'play by the rules' when he walked the earth, he was always doing or saying things that bucked the trend in those times, and of course, it caused those in power, to hate and despise him.

Franklin Graham is one of the most influential and powerful people in this country right now. People like him are a big reason Trump is so popular and why so many believe he’s chosen by God and therefore can literally do no wrong. The constant dehumanization of anyone and everyone who doesn’t support Trump or who isn’t the perfect white heterosexual Christian is very disturbing. I think one of the big reasons we cannot have any kind of compromise is the fact most conservatives believe that Democrats are inherently evil and working to accomplish the will of Satan.

Obviously I like many Trump policies, but God runs the show here and He is not interested in party politics.
How much influence he has politically really depends on who is in power.
He has much greater influence with Pence as VP than he would have had under Obama for example.
I understand what you are saying - but in relative terms to a dollar, with Obama he has about 5 cents of influence (if that much)... with Trump, it's about 20 cents. Either way - it's not that much influence.
In effect, they're saying that if you oppose Trump, then you're demon-influenced, if not demon-possessed.
The Bible says "Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves". It's right to pray that Franklin and Metaxis come to see the error of their ways, but Christians should not support them. In effect, they're making judgments only God should make.
Communism does not allow Christianity .. they want to rule you. This is why the Communists have infiltrated the democrat party...that was a much easier vehicle to get to and control.
True.. we fight not against flesh and blood , but of spiritual wickedness in high places.. Satan wanted to be higher than God and there was war in heaven. Satan rebelled and wanted to be God with full power. Satan was cast down and took one third of the angels with him...
There is a spiritual battle today. Those that are following Satan are the rebellious. One cannot follow two masters. Either you are for God or against God.
Satan is the great deceiver. He can get people to believe that good is bad and bad is good. The end times will see an increase of this very thing.
The bible said we can judge righteous judgement. We look at the fruits. Are they good , are they rebellious. Do they destroy or build up .
If the fruit is good, the tree is good. We look at the results to see if truth prevails or does Satan deceive.
Many thought that Jesus was Satan and called him that.. He told the truth but the truth was hard to hear and they hated that truth. Jesus said to repent . They did not.
Many are lovers of pleasures than lovers of God. Those that follow the word and do it are those that have made Jesus their Savior but also their Lord.
President Trump has given back the rights of Christians to speak from the pulpit. LBJ took away that right years ago .
Those that hate Israel will not be blessed. Those that love Israel will be blessed. It is written.
