It works ANYWAY the Senate wants it to work...just like this farce in the House made this nonsense up. The liberal "double standard" is so ingrained with you people that it's really astounding to see.

John Roberts isn't going to allow himself to preside over a Republican circus so . . no, it won't.

Quid pro WMD and quid pro perjury were high crimes. Quid pro foreign aid is more misdemeanor.

So it goes.

Yes there is. The accused gets to confront their accuser. That's the way it works. I'm surprised that you'd even say something such as that.

So far Trump has had 0 Due Process. This happens in the Senate trial.

He has no say whatsoever, any ruling he makes can be overridden with a simple majority vote.

Go read the US Constitution. Oh that's right. Democrats don't believe in it these days.

Why would Democrats want to prevent Republicans from backing an old con man who was impeached and removed from office?

They may want to be careful what they ask for.

If you recall, they screamed about wanting public hearings - until they got them.
Then they screamed about Trump being excluded from the hearings - until he was specifically invited, in person or by proxy, and he declined.

If they want Schiff to testify, they had better be ready for what the public may get to see and hear on the evening news. Like Ben Franklin siad, "Marry in haste, repent at leisure."

Let Biden testify. The prosecution will end up looking like desperate fools. They have nothing on Biden because he did not do anything illegal. If Trump is not guilty because it is hearsay or because there was no QPQ or because it is not impeachable, then he does not need to present anything, just send it to the jury. Putting Biden up there and then he exonerates himself of the accusations will be a huge backfire on Trump and the Republicans. They will all look guilty as hell.

As they are the jury, Senators are supposed be silent as evidence and testimony is introduced.
