McConnell has announced he's not impartial, there will be no witnesses, no evidence. Just a quick vote.

Why won't McConnell let Mulvaney, Pompeo, Giuliani, and Bolton testify? What are they afraid of?

McConnell is complicit, he is a co-conspirator in Trump's obstruction of justice. The Senate sham trial is a massive cover-up.

Let's get all of the evidence, all of the testimony, out on the table. Don't hide it from the Senators, and don't hide it from We the People. Where's the transparency?

Haven't we heard enough evidence from the witnesses that the Dems called on in the House? You know the ones that heard a rumor or had their feelings hurt by something that was said. The same ones that had no first hand knowledge of what was actually said on the phone call but merely reacted and reported what they had heard around the water cooler?

The Dems all voted along party lines with a few that abstained and the Reps all voted along their line as well but the impeached passed due to sheer numbers over actual hard evidence.

The whole thing is a rushed botch of a sham and that is a real shame because the Democrats have reduced the serious nature of an impeachment into a partisan political circus.
We wouldn't be in this mess if 3 years ago the Democrats choose to work with Trump the best they could instead of trying to destroy him and sap his base.

Pelosi is not sending the articles because she knows it is a weak case that should be shut down but she can hold them over Trump and cast a doubt over his reelection and certainly deny his choosing a nominee if RBG should step down from the Supreme Court.

I don't know about McConnel but it is hard to believe how complicit millions of people are in this country when it comes to the dirty politics the Dems are using to destroy Trump.

Sounds like the DNC talking points....the group that does its own thing and ignores the law now wants McConnell to do what THEY want.......as McConnell tells all of them rightly to pound sand......

Couple of things.

1. Either the House feels their impeach articles are strong enough to remove the President or they don't. If they don't, then they shouldn't have voted for them. If they do, then why would anything else be needed?

2. We heard over and over again how Impeachment is not a criminal undertaking, but a Political one, which was used to not allow Trump's lawyers to be present or question any witnesses during the impeachment inquiry. Now it's different in the Senate?

The house could have taken the steps necessary to get the interviews they sought, they chose not to go that route. Now they want a do over because they know the American people see this for it is and they are hoping if they can get more people to testify, it will help them. To bad, you had your shot, you took it and you missed.

And just for the record, none of those people brought up are under lock and key. They can testify anytime they want to. Especially Bolton, he doesn't even work for the administration anymore.

The senate should and would have every right to dismiss this as soon as it is sent over. Its been a sham from the start and needs to be done with.

Someone tell this legal "expert" to sit his partisan and unhinged behind down

The House already called witnesses that they claimed proved beyond the shadow of a doubt the crimes that they accused the president of committing. What else does the Senate need to consider? They have all the information they need to vote.

There is no evidence to support an impeachment. It’s all based on hearsay. A vote is all that’s needed. The senate did its job and we move on to the next liberal whine.

The Democrats are crying and whining for "fairness" when their total sham circus of a hearing was anything BUT.

They will just have to continue to be desperate and panicked. Why not try putting up a better 2020 candidate, and win at the ballot box? Not by a sham and false impeachment.

It is not the Senate's job to complete an investigation the House failed to complete on their own. The House has the sole power to impeach, but the Senate has the sole power to try all impeachments brought before them. Pelosi and the Dem majority in the House have no say in what goes on in the Senate, and a simple majority in the Senate can set whatever rules for the trial they want, or dismiss the articles entirely based on the House's lack of prosecution. The Senate majority now has that sole power.

If the Democrats wanted those four witnesses ad whatever "bombshell" testimony they believe they all will deliver, then they should have waited until they got the judiciary to force the subpoena compliance on them before sending the articles out of committee for a floor vote.

As McConnell has correctly and constitutionally pointed out - neither the House nor one Senator with an agenda get to dictate how the entire US Senate must proceed.

If the Democrats want those witnesses, my advice is to rescind the current articles of impeachment, reset the investigation, and then go back and try to get subpoena compliance override of executive privilege from the Judiciary, then move forward with the blockbuster "got him now" testimony of those four people.

They screwed the pooch hard by being impatient and voting on impeachment before they had their case made. Not the GOP's job to fix their mistakes.
