I think that Trump's strategy is that he is either going to claim leader of the world who solved the ME oil dispute, or he's going to gift the mess to the next government and claim that they made a mess of it. Either way, Trump's objective seems to be transparent and selfish and to the detriment of the rest of the world.

Unfortunately, Trumps oversized ego and confrontational government means that the USA attacked Iran. The USA can claim whatever they want, but killing a general in a non-military non-war situation is inexcusable. If the USA had anything against the Iranian General, why didn't the USA bring him to trial through proper USA or UN channels?
Was he a terrorist who should be killed on sight, or a general who represented the government? He was not a terrorist. He was a General in Iran. People may not like what he, the Iranian General, did, but assassination is not an option.

So explain how killing a terrorist is a selfish endeavor? It is our military that took out this guy and was translated to the president that they could take him out and wanted Trump to gave the OK.
So basically you do not know if the US had permission from Iraq to conduct such a strike? You think it should be a matter of routine and the norm to conduct air strikes in other countries without the permission of said country?
Would you like it if a foreign country conducted such a strike in the US? Imagine a person wanted by say Russia for terror reasons, and this terrorist is visiting just fine a legally in the US, and Russia conducted a strike near BWI airport and killed him, would you be for that? Or if Mexico feels the US is not doing enough to curb white supremacist groups that killed its citizens, would you be ok if Mexico then conducted air strikes on these groups in the US?

I simply asked (my post was a reply to my original post) is the US had permission from Iraq to conduct such a strike. So far I have not found the answer.
To add; this guy was lawfully in Iraq, so that means either the accusations against him are BS, or Iraq is a full co-conspirator with Iran and this guy, thus should be treated just like Iran, one of the two. Because right now, looks to me Iraq has been cooperating and providing political and material support for US designated terror groups and terrorists.

The term "terrorist" is in question. The man was an Iranian General. His country is in an uproar that he was assassinated by the USA.
Yes, the USA assassinated the General of Iran. If a General has violated law, why wasn't he brought to trial through the many options available to the USA? There is no war between Iran and the USA, so it's not an option to simply kill a military person from another country such as Iran.
