America is very prosperous now. I doubt we were ever more prosperous at any point than we are now. So your assertion is pure hyperbole. Without immigration our workforce would greatly suffer. Since most Americans are too lazy to work and keep begging the government to protect their useless jobs
"...most Americans are too lazy to work". That's BS.
Then you contradict yourself and say they have "useless jobs". Make up your mind.
And, yes, we shouldn't be passing over Americans in favor of visa holders. Period.

This is the poster that says minimum wage is too high in America, and that is the root of all our problems. Basically, he won't think America has it right until it is a turd world country and all Americans except the top 5-10% are replaced by illegals.
Japan is paying a hefty price for disallowing immigrants into their country, as they want to remain Homogenous, 1.2 applicants per job.
When that should happen in the U.S., we'll rip down every wall along the Mexican border! But by then, with Mexico's fertility rate @2.0, there'll be very few to cross the Border.
You don't want immigration to end. You and your fellow xenophobes and your leader would lose one of your major talking-points.
How does wanting a moratorium on immigration make one a "xenophobe"?
You want to keep flooding this country with millions of immigrants. I bet you also wring your hands over global warming all the while not caring about the fact that we don't have unlimited buildable land or potable water. Our infrastructure is crumbling and there isn't the money to fix it. Meanwhile, communities are forced to choose between repairing the existing infrastructure or adding to it.
What's this "your leader"? Unless you aren't an American citizen, he is "your leader", too --- like it or not.
It would be nice "to lose one of [the] major talking points". That won't happen until a moratorium or a major reduction in legal immigration and a major reduction in illegal immigration happens.

I call that a raging success. You ~want~ more jobs than people - that's what keeps wages high and power in the hands of the workers, as opposed to the employers.
Japan would be much, much poorer today if they'd followed America's immigration policy for the past 50 years or so.

A moratorium on immigration is like a moratorium on eating out. If you have no discipline... going out all the time, eating crap, becoming poor, obese, getting in fights at Popeyes... it's a step in the right direction. But if you've got your act together at all, you're better off just cutting down and being more selective about it.
This is true but right now our immigration policy is more akin to a WorldStar Hip Hop video from Chuck-E-Cheese than it is an episode of Iron Chef.
