Since he included dishwashers, I'm in. I hate the expensive whirlpool in our new house. Drip, drip, drip - we have actually laughed at it. I can turn it on, leave for a soccer game, catch lunch, come home and it's still on. The dishes aren't all that clean either.

Dishwashers are designed to wash dishes at a certain temperature. If the incoming hot water is not hot enough, the dishwasher has heating elements at the bottom that will heat the water to the 130 to 140 degrees. If it is an old washer, the elements may have crude covering them (just like in your water heater, if electric), which causes the heating process to take even longer.

So, check your water heater. When I had a new one installed not too long ago, the installer set the temperature to 110 degrees. Obviously, I found that unsatisfactory, in part since it took the dishwasher longer to heat the water. I set the temperature to 140 degrees. My dishwasher thus kicks in very quickly.

I can’t get incandescent lightbulbs here in Massachusetts now my bathroom vanity lights suck.

solution: wash your dishes by hand, like I do, my parents do, my friends do, my coworkers do. You don't need a dishwasher to wash dishes. Are you really that lazy?

Proposed changes in regulations are a response to consumer complaints:

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news...inistration-s/

"Sam Kazman, general counsel of the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute, which led the charge for the regulatory clean-up, said the ever-tighter restrictions on energy and water have produced machines that take twice as long without getting dishes as scrubbed as earlier models."

"He cited data from Consumer Reports showing that average wash times have increased from about 70 minutes in 1983 to 140 minutes in 2018 as manufacturers slow down the cycles to “compensate for the negative impact on cleaning performance,” as the department acknowledged in 2016."

This washing machine bit has come up a number of times now. It's like his "Free Bird."

every time I turn on the shower, the faucets, etc, and low water pressure comes out, I know what Trump is thinking.. the water comes out so slow that you spend more time and using the same amount of water (it just takes longer)..

also its horrid when you have a low-pressure shower.. its so lame.

I haven't heard anyone complain about any of this stuff since the Married With Children episode about getting a pre-regulation toilet...and in that era some did suck. But haven't had any problems in recent times.

Yeah the dishwasher takes longer to run, but it's running overnight so doesn't matter.
