See post 135. I have been doing my research by reading a book by gun expert Shannon Watts. I now realize that "high caliper clip" is incorrect. The correct term is "high capacity clips."
I still contend that 'caliper' is actually appropriate since 'caliper' is a measuring device, and 'capacity' is just a form of measure.
Test question... Do you know how to pour urine from a boot?

Shannon Watts is no expert. I am considered a expert in the use and proper terminology. The only time a “clip” is referred to is for the M-1 Garand which uses en bloc clips to hold 8 rounds of .30-06 rounds. Or a stripper clip where rounds are held onto a device that holds eight rounds that is attached to the top of the open breech of a bolt action rifle and the rounds, eight of them, are then stripped off the device using a downward force with your thumb to load the rounds into the internal fixed magazine of the rifle.
So your “expert” is an idiot and very ill informed.

Reread the definition. Then try to learn about measure.
Several posters have admonished me about my lack of knowledge on guns. As you know, I never claimed to be an expert. I maintain that you don't have to be an automotive engineer to drive a car and comment on how it rides.
Nonetheless, I'm doing some research. I just read Fight Like a Mother by Shannon Watts, founder of "Moms demand action." I learned a lot from her expertise.
She calls 'Moms Demand Action" a "gun sense" group. At first her term was "gun control," but Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, an expert on the general topic, adviser her that "gun control" was "too divisive."
Already on page 4, I gained some valuable tech. info. about guns. My term "high caliper clips" does turn out to be incorrect.
So the proper term is actually "high capacity clips," not "high caliper clips."
The book is not perfect. She makes the common error of conflating gun suicides and gun homicides. She doesn't seem to recognize that none of her legislative solutions would have prevented Sandy Hook, which is the signature impetus of her movement. Overall though, the book is informative and inspiring.
It's very likely that Watts isn't making a mistake, she is doing that on purpose. Watts is a liar and hypocrite who is bought and paid for by Bloomberg, and if you want to learn anything about firearms you are better off going over and asking the neighbors dog. At least the dog won't lie.

OK class in session ....There is big difference (as I told you earlier) twist a "clip" and a "magazine." A clip is a device that is used to load ammunition into a firearm with an integral magazine. The ammunition reservoir is actually part of the gun.
A magazine actually detaches from the gun, is loaded and put back in. It is a separate device. The term you are searching for is detachable box magazine.
There is one type of ammunition feeding device that is still a funny debate amongst us shooters. The M1 GARAND 8 round en bloc. It is commonly called a "clip" even by serious shooters, and other serious shooter call it a magazine.
Your expert" is not any such thing. "Clip" is an erroneous slang term as applied to ammo reservoirs that detach a d insert into a weapon.
If you truly want to learn about firearms here are some authors for you. Bart Skelton, Massad Ayoob, Jeff Cooper, John Taffin, Jerry Ahern, Jan Libourel. Charles Askins, Phil Spangenberger and Wiley Clapp. To start.
These guys are all good (even though I have a difference of opinion with a couple of them ) And comparing automobiles to firearms is apples and sea cucumbers.
None of us has a "right" guaranteed us in the Constitution to keep and drive cars. Kķ

Indeed. (Sigh) And who am I to question her? A mere 50 years of experience owning and using firearms doesn't qualify me to disagree with someone who has a college degree.
I guess that we all just have to accept this made up tech jargon as gospel.
