Yes, the irreparable harm is to the taxpayers that have to support the public charge immigrants. I'm glad the Trump Admin is enforcing the public charge prohibition immigration law that has been in effect for well over a century. It's about time someone did!
Normally emergency appeals are true emergencies, this only Illinois. Tomorrow there will be another emergency.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor said she is concerned the Supreme Court is going out of its way to help the Trump administration.
The high court voted along ideological lines on Friday to grant the Trump administration's demand for an emergency request to stay an injunction in an Illinois case regarding the restriction of low-income immigrants from entering the United States. Sotomayor wrote in an opinion that her conservative colleagues on the Supreme Court, who have the majority, are “putting a thumb on the scale in favor of” the Trump administration.
“It is hard to say what is more troubling,” Sotomayor wrote on Friday. “That the government would seek this extraordinary relief seemingly as a matter of course, or that the Court would grant it.”
...
Sotomayor, an Obama appointee, criticized what she described as a troubling pattern of the conservative justices ruling in favor of the Trump administration without looking at these cases in an objective manner.
NEWSFLASH: We voted for this. It is absolutely fair.
If Sotomayor doesn't like things, then she should step down. Better yet, she should move far away. All she's doing is disgrace the dignity of the high court.

Well if the president doesn’t like our judicial system he could do the same, in the meantime only have 3rd generation American white republican males should rule on his appeals.
So basically he was able to pass at times when scores of others could not. He was able to get into college and have a successful career when others could not. Brown v Board of Education didn’t effect him someone like him because he was white enough to pass in many instances. He wouldn’t need affirmative action because he often wouldn’t be rejected for his race.
Did you miss the part where he would go job hunting and they would take a look at him and say "We don't hire Puerto Ricans"?
Did you also miss the part where he had black colleagues who were doing the exact same government job that he was doing? When he was in college, he had black classmates---and, no, they weren't able to "pass".
Where do you get off assuming that every single black or Puerto Rican who went to college at the same time my father did, only were able to do so because they could "pass"?
Where do you get off making such blanket assumptions.
