I would say the same thing if the customer had requested a black server.. “customer is always right”..even if the customer is a jerk...
Business know their success depends on the happiness of their customer...

Would've told the trash to get out. Business needs to look out for it's employees, especially kids.
There are also federal and state laws that prohibit adverse action against an employee based on race. This isn't limited to "big" things like firing and promotions. Management should have been aware of these laws.
If, I repeat IF, the account is accurate, I agree with the firing; however, there are always two sides to every story.
Another POSSIBLE side: The customer may have dined there several times and received horrible service from the black waitress, and upon realizing they were in her section, the exchange went like this:
Customer, "I'd like another waitress."
Hostess, "What?"
Customer (who doesn't know the name of any of the wait staff), "I don't want that black waitress."
Hostess, "Excuse me?"
Customer, pointing to waitress she had been happy with before (who happened to be white), "I'd prefer that white waitress over there to serve us."
And then it devolved from there.
Do I know this is what happened? Of course not, but we are only getting one side of the story; therefore, treating it as fact is a bit silly considering how many times the scenario has changed once we hear the other side.
Don't forget, we had video proof that a racist white kid was bullying a proud native American, until the rest of the video came out.
My philosophy is that you assume the customer is right, until it's proven that they aren't right.
Customer wasn't right here.
Assuming the story is accurate. Right?
