Totally agree. Don't treat us like children. Use a carrot not a stick. You will only get people's dander up by coming across like jack booted goons.
Well, unfortunately, many people do not respond to a carrot, but need a stick (and I often wish it could be applied to their backsides). Some people are extremely selfish and self-centered and think that rules do not apply to them. I read at least a dozen examples of this a day, and experience it at least a half-dozen times every time I make a two-hour errand run.
However, I do agree that leaders should not treat us like like children or idiots! If we know the facts, I think that most people will respond in an appropriate way.
South Korea wasted no time in the response effort. Trump blew it for the USA.
Oh, but he rates himself and his administration as a 10 for how they have handled this situation. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw and heard him say that yesterday. A 10? Really?
It's still all about him. All of you thinking he has changed--just no. IMO
Yes, it would make perfect sense that the ENTIRE WORLD is in cahoots trying to get rid of Trump.
Do you think the Globalist Elites that run many foreign countries want a Trump Presidency? We've had these types of viruses before that were much, much worse like N1H1. Why is the reaction to this virus so much more extreme, financially devastating, and life altering? What's different now, and who benefits from all of this chaos?
Sorry to break it to you, but a virus is not political.
Trump's failures belong solely to him. He's incapable of leading, especially in a crisis of this magnitude. When people are dying in hospital corridors, maybe this whole song and dance of "oh, it's just a bad flu" will finally be put to rest.
20% of people who get infected will need some kind of medical intervention, like oxygen. 12% will become seriously ill enough to need a ventilator. We don't have nearly enough ventilators to cope with this. The 12% will need this care for weeks, because there is no cure for this virus.

Yet, you don't know a single person with coronavirus. Or a single person that knows someone with coronavirus, I'll bet.
But I see you live in California, so there's no reason or logic to argue with there.
