I’m with you on this. I’ve been hounding my Sen and Congressman to voice this same concern. They are ALREADY spending $$ that we don’t have. What’s a few hundred million $ more?!! Money seems to be no object when it comes to buying up the votes.
I read that in 2008-09, EVERY adult American received one, but had to pay it back if they didn’t qualify based on the means. The Only reason that Doofus wants to do it is to buy up votes of those who receive them. Man, I wish that I owned a tatty bar or tattoo bar to make $ when the checks drop.
You have more power to vote him out in Ariz, you lucky swing stater you,
The only worthwhile person in Congress for me to contact is Sinema. Rep. Gosar is in quarantine and Sen. McSally is gonna go with Trump because she is a bootlicker. Sinema should vote yes, and I trust she will.
Yep. He won't get my vote and I know quite a few co-workers that joked about sending it back. I would if I didn't need it. My plan all along is to use for bills and savings due to the tax bomb this could be.
It is a semi-swing state.

That is my problem. Also it adversely hurts single people since we have less months to feed...

She is with me but that is because I don't like her anyway.

If my husband and I get a check, we will only need to decide whether to donate it or else put it in our cash retirement savings account (or maybe half and half). We would not just spend it or reinvest it.
The problem is there are many that cannot quantify it. Many school workers had to forgo part of their check due to spring break. Trump's original plan didn't include furloughed workers.
I wonder how all the people who chose not to report their income feel about their decision now? No help.
I have a neighbor who declined to report her income from bartending, had a stroke, and now she gets SSI instead of SSDI, and it's very tiny. Like $500/month. None of that tax money she saved helps her now.
I only make 45 k a year. My husband makes 105 k. So together we made over 150. So we will get no 1000 dollars.
They said at first most Americans, but not milioners will get this money. So I guess we are considered milioners..lol
My husband will have his salary cut by 50% until this is over.
So last years money means nothing right now.

They should send each person a Coronavirus Care Kit which includes:
-Hand Sanitizer
-Masks
-Coronavirus test kits with mail-in instructions or with local address for drive through drop-off. Or Unique IDs that you take to the testing center so every American get get a test done.

I’m in the same boat. I made about $90k/single. I will most certainly not make nearly that amount this year.

I agree, I think a much better use of that money would be to temporarily double unemployment benefits and extend them until things get straightened out. People who are involuntarily unemployed are the ones who need help - I don't, we lost some money we had invested but we'll be fine, and people who are still working aren't really incurring any great hardship.
If Trump wants to start doing universal cash giveaways he has my vote. Also that isn't socialism
Just buying votes, thats all. He's been steadily losing them lately. He feels this is the answer. Its always money with him. He loves to spend somebody else's money. Actually its yours, you're just getting it back.
We should just every American adult 1000 a month no matter what
Exactly at a time like this we should be worrying less about who “deserves” it and more that it will help a lot of people. But as always there will be people more concerned about what their neighbors are getting then what they get. It ‘s sad that people will not be helped because someone else is jealous that they are getting the same thing.
