The US Constitution guarantees the right of religion and right of assembly. He is free to worship if he desires, but the govt apparently thinks they can take rights away when it is convenient, which they do and have done for a long time, even back to the civil war. My guess is that he takes the Bible seriously which says, "We must obey God rather than men."
Our church is broadcasting worship. Maybe he should consider it.
You can't yell "fire" in a crowded church.
As the Sheriff said who arrested the pastor, the order IS Constitutional, and courts have previously affirmed this. You can complain all you want, but no one is, or needs to, listen.
God is everywhere. You don’t need to seek him in church. That was a very stupid congregation to gather like that. A local choir held its practice. Two have died from Covid-19 as a result.
Exactly. Churches are buildings, nothing more. And they just want your money anyway.
This "pastor", Rodney Howard-Browne told his flock that God will make their rolls of toilet paper multiply, just as Jesus did with the loaves and the fishes:
Here's an idea: If someone who goes to this church gets the virus from somebody else who was there, and that person dies from the virus, they should charge the pastor with murder.
While it's sheer idiocy, unless he forced them to go to the church he's not criminally chargeable.
Now if he started convincing people that god would protect them if they jumped of building roofs and they did, then yeah.
I’m not blaming Trump here but I would go out on a limb and say that Trumps little speech about Easter and wanting to pack the churches didn’t help.
