The POTUS does not have the authority to postpone the election.

The Constitution mandates that it take place in 2020.

The exact date of the election could change (as long as it still is in 2020) but only through an act of Congress to change the law that currently sets the date.

This postponed BS is playing off of Trump wanting to be president for life, like he joked about before. He loves to throw stuff out there to see how the public will react. Only a fool would vote for him with all the chit he has caused.

didn't say it was going to happen, should happen or even could happen....

my answer was to the one that said it could...I said it could NOT

the only thing I was arguing was to the poster that said Nancy would be the "appointed one"

and that IF, (a very big IF) a postponement was to happen (which is NOT mentioned in the constitution) it certainly would NOT be a normal line of succession (as number 3's position (house seat) is up before the POTUS's seat), and my best guess (as this has NEVER been fully addressed before) would be that the current sitting POTUS (doesn't matter who that might be, to include if it was Obama) would be the most likely to remain in office UNTIL the actual election, and then do a transference of power as always

I voted for Johnson, but trump is still the better choice than Hitlery, Ole' Joe, or commie Bernie

The main Bad-News for Trump in 2020 will be lack of 3rd party nominees - Jill Stein, G.Johnson - 90% of those who voted for them woulda voted for Hillary - enuff to swing back the swing states.

So-far it doesn't look like they're gonna run in 2020...aka "damn, I made Trump win"

Montana GOP just spent $100K to get Green Party on ballot! GOP knows that if they can induce Green Party to run someone that's votes not for Joe...Smart, if you're so-inclined to want Trump!

Johnson's votes would have gone to Trump...certainly not the communist Stein, or to hitlery

Funny you say that, back when we had Clinton and Ross Perot, while I couldn't vote, I was star struck by Clinton's coolness on Arsenio Hall. But today, now that I know a bit more, I would have supported Perot because like you said, I'm tired of the long established goons from both sides of the isle who are destroying this country.

BTW - like him or not - Clinton was the last president to actually run a balanced budget. He left the country (and the world) in very good shape.

Also no Sanders supporter I know would vote for Trump - not vote at all sure they all seem to hate the POTUS.
I was a Sanders supporter and voted for Trump. So there you go!

15% of Sanders supporters in 2020 is much lower number than 15% of Sanders supporters in 2016. This is because Sanders doesn't have as many supporters in 2016 compared to 2020.

For example, in Florida Sanders got 568k votes in 2016 but only 396k in 2020.

In Illinois, Sanders got 999k votes in 2016 but only 565k in 2020
