If you don't like Costco then name a store you like and tell us why.
Or stores, plural. There's nothing like going to a farmer's market to pick up fresh produce. But what does it take to buy some steaks, a pair of jeans, dog food, and storage shelves for your garage as well? Is it better to drive all over town seeking out the little family-owned businesses in cutesy shops with only the best architecture to get what you need, spending your weekend wasting energy and polluting the air in the process?
Come on, Winterfall8324. You've got all these gripes but zero suggestions so far. Show us what you got. Anything at all?
I am not trying to be rude, that sounds like it came from a college freshman who just got his Introduction to the Social Sciences textbook. If you want a discussion make this specific, if I read "structural society" again I will gag I swear. If you don't like Costco then name a store you like and tell us why.

I don't have all the answers.
I only ask for people to think about what they want. Apathy is not the answer.
Society looks and functions how we choose, it does not manifest itself differently for each individual.
The way towns, social hierarchies, and institutions are structured affect how we live.
All I ask is for people to step back and ask themselves what their society should value and be like. Promoting a place like Costco could give you instant satisfaction from the low prices and bulk goods along with easy road side access, but it may also promote a type of society that we as people may not want.
We may be headed for 'Idocracy' but, IMO it is not because i shop at Costco.
I know what I want and that doesn't matter. What matters is what America as a whole wants, and I don't think people ask that question enough.
Apathy is not the answer.
I think we have demonstrated we are quite enthusiastic about Costco, not apathetic.

No, you aren't asking people to think about what they want, you are telling us what we shouldn't want but when pressured you can't even describe what your 'vision' is except by throwing out more social science textbook vernacular. I give up, I don't think you are being sincere and I'm not wasting any more time on this.

I have no idea what answer you are looking for.
Costco is a popular culture icon that supports certain modes of living.
Whether or not you support that is not up to how much you saved on a roll of toilet paper.
