That one quote that has you all wound up is also not going to change the meaning of Trump ignoring US medical experts, and the alerts by the WHO back in Jan...all the while continuing to downplay this virus all the way through March.
Do you even see how utterly ridiculous your argument is?
Do you? Do you have any sense that you went from someone able to provide an unbiased scientific opinion - I still believe your claim to be in the testing industry - to a mere partisan in the span of about 4 days?
You one again have asserted he ignored the US experts. You're vacillating now between "just January" and THROUGH March (not into March, mind you, which takes us to his last rally on March 2nd).
I wonder whose responsibility it was to check the world (global pandemic) and dig into it all a little to see: Where ARE people traveling here from? Should not someone from CDC picked up the phone to CBP/Visa system and asked?
Or Trump was supposed to know to ask this too?
I dont specifically know the answer to your question.
But, I do have a friend who is working with the task force since the original one in mid January.
I generally dont ask her questions because I dont like to put her in the position of saying she cant say.
But, right after the Italy travel ban I asked her when are you banning X country? She laughed and said we have a list. I assume it was coming from CDC who was tracking the number of cases in each country at that point. Not sure who was doing it in the beginning.
But its like I said earlier. Trump was not deciding who to ban.......the so called "experts" were advising him who to ban based on the data.
Is this projection taking into account things opening back up?
We have nearly 70k deaths with the country being locked down.
I'd love to know how much social distancing has played a part
Social distancing is not supposed to reduce the death count* just spread it out over a much larger period of time. And maybe buy time for a vaccine or effective treatment.
*If our hospitals are overwhelmed, then deaths will rise due to lack of space, medical professionals, or equipment. But I'm ignoring that case.
