The truth is that, Those businesses with VC funding and without customer traction would find it very hard to raise further rounds. Those are also likely to shutdown.

People who can extend their runways by bootstrapping should survive.

The key to survival during this medical crisis is low leverage and high liquidity.

those that possess both are likely to survive and end up with a higher market share when the dust settles.

Most people are not dumb or heartless, they know that small business owners cannot survive this medical crisis. What crime did she REALLY commit for wanting to put food on the table?! Plus, if you do not want to go to her salon, nobody is forcing you to. Let's not pretend that she is a public health threat number one. She is just one of the struggling American who wants to keep the businesses going.

Yes, immediate release her please.

Exactly this.

If you're afraid for YOUR health, then by all means stay home. But you'll need to PROVE that the health of others were jeopardized by her staying open.

I'm also curious how your grandson is paying his bills? Does he have a family? Employees?

Abbott did not describe jail as one of the remedies. Also, the Governor and the AG are speaking to the precedent that is being set here. A nasty and dangerous precedent it clearly is.

Clearly a good many leftists are getting themselves off on the power trip they are feeling from the imposement of these lockdowns and related restrictions. If anyone has any lingering doubts about what a bunch of domineering control freaks these people are, you need to open your eyes and pay attention to what is happening here.

Jail is not necessary and it is excessive here. But the leftists just cannot seem to constrain themselves. These lockdowns give them a level of control that they have positively been lusting after for years. It is so close they can smell it, taste it, and touch it. They pretty clearly do not want to stop it.

The Governor will intervene in this travesty. The judge had discretion and chose to make a political statement.

Maybe there's some sort of personal resentment in his past that guided his poor decision. Know what I mean?

The punishment should fit the crime.

I don't think she is anything worse than the people who have boxes of hand sanitizers and N95 masks in their basements; nor do I think she is worse than those idiots who dump their dirty masks at the grocery store parking lot.

So when he said "jail should be the last available option" he meant that jail was not an option at all?
