It doesn't matter if you fictionally renounce your fictional citizenship. If your interests conflict with the interests of the State its game over for you.
well the US government can impose taxes regardless of where the citizen is located. From a legal perspective, this is why you have to pay US taxes when you live and make money abroad.
My grandparents made their fortune overseas, and I (as an American citizen) was raised overseas. They (grandparents who are also american citizens) have always paid American taxes. I don't think it is unfair, and it (paying taxes while living overseas) certainly is a lousy reason of giving up American citizenship.
Living abroad shouldn’t exempt anyone from their tax obligations. If they get in trouble, they’ll be calling Uncle Sam for assistance.
So the best thing is to just renounce your citizenship if you don’t wanna pay taxes. It’s that simple. But American citizens should pay American taxes no matter where they live.

You should now make the argument that the taxes pried from an ex pat are certainly worth the cost of admission back in, if one decides they want back in.
