It's only authoritarian rule in states with Democrat Governors.
Nobody seems to be calling the stay at home orders, restrictions, demand to wear mask in red states as authoritarian....they are just policies to open up.
Wrong again. I'm in a red state with a governor that thinks he's a dictator. Almost as pathetic as Inslee-and the people are up in arms over him. Lawsuit has been filed and a recall election is in the works. With protests happening every week. Citizens in red states are far quicker to turn on their elected officials when they suspend their rights on a whim than blue states are. I haven't heard of any protests against Inslee in western WA.
They would have gone after Trump right off the bat if they thought they had a case, but even they don't think the handling of the virus violated anyone's constitutional rights.

In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that the President is entitled to absolute immunity from liability for civil damages based on his official acts. The court emphasized that the President is not immune from criminal charges stemming from his official (or unofficial) acts while in office.
Once the President is out of office in January 2021 the lawsuits will fly like a raging raven. The she-ite will hit the fan. NY already has lawyers lined up with cases against Trump waiting for the eventuality of flattening the idiot in chief.

I guess the ACLU had succumbed to talk in Star Wars metaphors, to the "Dark Side of the force" just like the SPLC by being gangrened by greed and corruption.
ACLU doesn't care about civil rights; they are primarily a front for liberal causes. If they were a civil rights organization they would be working as hard to protect the 2nd amendment as they do to kill tiny humans.
There are no civil rights involved in this issue. I suggest a visit to a dictionary.
I thought the “ACLU” was founded to defend and preserve individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the constitution.
