Trump is going to mess with the Post Office as much as he can between now and November.

Ballots in your home area should be ready at least two weeks before the election. If you have no choice than to vote by absentee ballot, get your ballot from someone that you trust on on your home county board of elections and Fed Ex the ballot back to that person at the BOE. Prudent planning using Fed Ex land should guarantee that your ballot gets there two or three days before the election and will be worth the cost.
You will also be able to track the package.

This is the first year that I will be voting by mail but my husband did it for years and I would bring it with me to early voting or the day of the election and drop it off.

nope nope nope-- mail in ballots end up in the Fl everglades... just as before! NO matter what you do now-- it will be hacked. guaranteed - elections are one of the LESS funded agencies in any state. with the VIRUS- stopping any work towards this, ha... It be better they flip a coin-- be more efficient at this point.

In most states, however, the allocated amount is not sufficient for a statewide replacement of all aging voting equipment. And, there are competing security priorities, including beefing up statewide voter registration databases, conducting cybersecurity activities, and implementing post-election audits. Even though the funding picture is rosier than it was even a few months ago, states and localities are still in a position of needing to come up with funds to replace aging voting systems in order to ensure the security of our democracy. In most states, however, the allocated amount is not sufficient for a statewide replacement of all aging voting equipment.

Voting advocates say Ron DeSantis must act faster to secure election pandemic funding

While some advocates have called for complete mail-in elections in 2020 because of the pandemic, Florida elections supervisors maintain that would be logistically impossible ahead of the August primary or November general election. But they do anticipate a record number of voters requesting to vote-by-mail this year.

Yeah?

If that is true (which it isn't) - how come the Trump campaign is busy organizing vote by mail in Red States?

The problem with voting by mail in my county and state is the signature verification. My signature is contingent on the kind of writing instrument I use, and the position of my body.

The clerks at the courthouse decide if it matches what they have on the record. Many mail in ballots are thrown out due to signatures not matching..

Even if somebody could find way to vote ten times on election day, it would make little difference in national elections. Sure local dog catcher in small town might get fraudulently elected. Your Senator or Governor wont. Voting is really pretty symbolic. Voting ten times, even if you could wouldnt change diddly. Whole lot effort and risk for very little effect.

If you wanted to affect an election seriously, you would find way to hack into the tabulation proccess. You know like dictators in third world countries toss ballot boxes or somehow find bunch of them out of thin air. Or you just hire only your own crowd to count the votes. Or just dont let your opposing party supporters from registering/voting. Dont set up any place to vote in strong holds of your opponent. You know, the current Republican play book. If you cant convince more people to vote for you, you need to limit the opposition vote by hook or by crook.

As expensive as it is to set up clumsy time consuming manual election, how about some effort to make voting online secure? If its secure enough to bank or do numerous other necessarily secure activities online, should be able to make voting secure. Be whole lot cheaper and easier all around than making people drive somewhere and stand in line for hours.
