why should twitter, (which was designed as an OPINIONs/feelings/thoughts social media app,) put a fact check on anyone, since opinions and thoughts or feelings are not facts to begin with
Because they are a publisher, not a platform, and their goal is to push political narratives.
He thinks any news source that doesn't print what he wants to say and how he wants to say it as "being run by liberals" and that they are fake news.....
Some refer to it as paranoia...
That's pretty much it. This President has said a lot of goofy things, it should surprise nobody. More important news will soon overtake this story in the mainstream media. Lots of things happening right now as states begin to reopen.
It’s about time. Twitter should probably do more since Trump violates their terms of service regularly.
Who determines what sites are accurate fact check sources? Twitter moderators appointed by leftist Twitter? People are stupid if they believe there is any honorable reason to Twitter's motives.
President Trump's popularity won't be stopped and all the sensoring and free speech stifling they try to apply will not prevent Trump from winning the election.
You anti Trumpers are a day late and a dollar short. America loving voters are informed and it ain't the MSM/mainstream social media bulls*i# that is Americans' source of facts. There are reliable source sites that have left the Twits in the dust.
Frankly, the fact that POTUS is threatening to shut down ANY social media platform should have citizens concerned. I don't care for certain platforms, but to have the President interfere with or threaten to shut down their operations because he doesn't like their commentary is not only alarming, but contrary to the 1st Amendment.
He has threatened journalists, long respected & highly regarded media organizations and professionals from the beginning. He does it daily. We need to remember his 'enemy of the people' taunts toward our press and all of his statements and propaganda pablum. These types of shocking words and plays are on the first page of The Autocrat's Handbook.
Democracy is continuously under assault by Donald.

Sure but how well will it work if they fact check him when he lies?
Assuming he actually ever lies, if they fact check him, they will have to fact check all users.....can you imagine that? It would shut down Twitter.......
Kinda like fact checking the posters on CD Forum.......
A White House petition was created last week after news broke that the Twitter accounts of Chinese dissidents started to disappear after a controversial Chinese-American artificial intelligence (AI) expert was hired to serve on the company's board.
In the end, the speed and scope with which social media platforms are redefining acceptable speech and allowable ideas, extending their reach into the physical world and arbitrating “truth,” remind us just how fragile democracy and free speech are as we cede an ever-greater portion of the public square to unaccountable private companies.

We have to wonder where Twitter gets their version of the truth from. Doctors are censored by Twitter if they do not agree with the views of the W.H.O.. That's right, the same W.H.O. which was saying the virus could not be transmitted between humans. Twitter's version of what the truth is, is not the gold standard, that much is certain.
