Yet there are many highly effective vaccines against viruses.

At this point it does not look like any of the identified mutations in this virus would preclude making an effective vaccine.

Given the number of No's and Maybe's there will not be enough for any kind of Herd Immunity. I am going to guess the Maybe's are taking a wait and see how effective it will be and what side effects there will be. Operation Warp Speed and Fast Tracked does not inspire confidence. I am a NO based on no confidence in the medical community, period.

Yes indeed. Perhaps in the haste to create a vaccine they inadvertently finally unleash the extinction event [omitted].

It depends on many things such as side effects, effectiveness, etc. If it was a one and done vaccine I would be more likely to take it. If it’s like the flu vaccine which is hit or miss on a yearly basis probably not. I also won’t be one of the first ones because I want to see what side effects occur.

Looks like COVID has been around for centuries. Whose to say COVID 20 is worse than COVID 19? Just like the flu shot, it's a 50/50 shot that they get it right. Unless its like the polio shot, it's not worth the chance.

COVID-19 is the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, and there is no evidence that it has been around for "centuries". Its genetics are compatible with it being around since late 2019, arising in China.

This is a coronavirus, not an influenza virus, and there is no evidence that it mutates the way flu viruses do or that there will be the need to frequently reformulate the vaccine the way it is done for flu.

What do you mean by "not worth the chance"?

You won't have to be first. Because the first will be those with very high medical risks. Many millions will willingly take the chance. Health care workers. The very old, nursing home patients, those with multiple pre-existing disease and those immuno-compromised.

Vaccine? What you want is the antidote. Think about it.

And let’s not forget the long term side effects that will prove to be far worse than any vaccine and/or any cure, antidote [omitted]
