It was basically a lesson in open insults / base-machismo that merely assures closed door insults. The assaulter will ponder those dynamics from behind bars.
Men without prison records endure insults without retaliation. It is part of being a man.

Big deal. He can apologize for that. No one was physically hurt by his comment. The assaulter, on the other hand, committed a real crime.
