A bit heavy handed. I really think he should have praised some efforts that have worked, some very peaceful protests.
And then condemned the violence and property destruction as a separate piece of this. Americans have the right to assemble, and the right to peacefully protest; that's being taken away.
It feels to me that in most cities, this thing is dying a natural death. This will spark it up again, IMHO.
The curfew there will begin 10 minutes after he announced it. How is that even POSSIBLE? Set up to fail. Set up to sic the military on the citizens, which is NOT what our military is for. Our military is to PROTECT those rights, not enforce their suspension.
Dunno, been pretty wild here. We have 8/8:30 curfews in a lot of cities with the National Guard already out in SF and LA/OC. The rhetoric is a lot different between Newsom and Trump, but Trump is really just a day late and a dollar short on what's going on here anyway. I guess Trump figures he'll make up for that with some extra vitriol so no one will notice the tardiness.

Wow, he had the police brutalize the crowd so he can do an photo-op in that area. Unreal. He is taking an ultra-authoritarian direction.
Brutalize the crowd? All I saw were cops making a human shield. At the very least, it was a bold statement against the haters who said he was hiding out scared in a bunker.
So am I understanding it right, trump is endangering people’s lives to get a photo op?
And did he also violate people’s right for lawful assembly?
Pretty absurd to take a picture in front of St Johns at this time also might be the first time he held a bible.
That speech once again didn't help and these constant threats of military force aren't going to calm this down especially when he keeps repeating thugs. Will the military start shooting people in these cities even if they decide to allow them into their state.
He didn’t mention white supremacy groups and neo-Nazi groups as a contributor in the riots. Why wouldn’t he do that?
