First, all rational people hope that the economy recovers quickly.

Second, there seems to be a new narrative that President Trump was enjoying wide-spread approval prior to the rise of the virus in January 2020. Of course, that is not true:

https://news.gallup.com/poll/203198/...ald-trump.aspx

Mr. Trump was in trouble politically even with a 'roaring economy'. Why do you think he was tweeting almost non-stop back then about how he deserves to be re-elected simply based on the economy? He knew it was his strong suit, but even then his disapproval rating was consistently in the 51 to 57 percent range. This with a good economy.

More than likely, if the virus had never arisen, Mr. Trump would still be facing pretty strong headwinds. Many people simply do not think he is competent. The rise of COVID 19 proved, again, that he is not competent. He simply denied that the virus would be a problem, claimed that it would magically disappear, told the States that obtaining medical equipment was up to them (causing the states to bid against each other, with the Federal government also bidding, and at times simply confiscating equipment purchased by a state).

Mr. Trump again proved his incompetence with the George Floyd situation. People took note of his 'photo op' nonsense at St. John's Episcopal church. His explanation about 'inspecting' the bunker was laughable.

Pulling us out of treaties; rolling back sound regulations concerning our environment; damaging our relationships with our Allies (did Mr. Trump take note of the D-Day anniversary yesterday? I did not see a tweet by him on this). Secret talks with President Putin (we only knew of the latest phone call with Mr. Putin when the Kremlin announced it; that same day, Mr. Trump spoke to the nation's governors, urging them to 'dominant' the protestors, a word he used 7 times in the conversation; did Mr. Putin use that word?).

I hope the economy continues to improve. As for the election, since Mr. Trump was in trouble before the onset of the virus, and then Mr. Floyd, I doubt his chances have improved.

It's transparent.
Race riot nonsense, huh?

How many marches have you been to? How many people are participating in them? How many people are being arrested, and what percentage of the number of marchers is that? Are they all Black and/or Democrats or are some of them Bugaloo boys and three percenters?

I'll post reputable links to answer the last question if you like. But based on your prior responses you've drunk too much orange Koolaid.

Literally days before Geroge Floyd was killed on May 25, libs governors (as well as libs posters on C-D) demonized people or businesses who don't wear masks /social distancing/follow stay at home order.

Boom! After May 25 mass protests broke out everywhere. Some protests had up to 20,000 protesters screaming and yelling spitting exchanging all kind of saliva with the police. All that social distancing or stay at home order just go out in the window. The libs govs are not only ticketed or arrested protesters (like they did to business owners), some of the gov even went out to protest with the protesters.

I guess you only get covid19 if you go to do your hair or hang out at the beach, but you are immune if you go protest with 20k people, right?

Health experts and most leaders were consistent about social distancing and wearing masks both before and after the protests. The leaders I have heard from even liberals have been critical of the lack of masks and distancing at these protests but I guess you hear what you want to hear.

Trump on the other hand has been critical of his own health policy and criticized governors that followed the health guidelines, you cant make this up.

Purely to deflect. You don't want facts, you just want more propaganda to reinforce your lies.

WORD

Both cities are deep blue cities in deep blue state. ROFL

But let's blame Trump just to be safe. Hell, lets protest in front of the WH. Some of the high profile police shootings occurred under Obama watch, but nobody blame Obama or marched to WH to blame Obama. A black democratic President could not fix police & race relation after 8 years in office, so why do leftists expect a white republican President can do that in less than 4 years?

Nope not Trump's fault that this man died at the hands of police.

AS it wasn't Trump's fault that COVID 19 spread.
As it wasn't Trump's fault the economy crashed as we tried to mitigate the damage of the virus.

Trump's leadership during the crisis will be the issue.

And it is subjective. It will be up to the Democrats to properly campaign on the faults of the leadership.

Too early to tell if they can be effective or not.

The country is divided for sure and neither party can feel secure in their position. It is going to be a close one that won't be able to be called until late into election day.
