Hate to burst your bubble, but the local police chief is completely irrelevant in a scenario where the National Guard is called in. That said, they are controlled by the state Governor who is a weak Democrat, so odds are these "special" people will be allowed to do whatever they want for as long as they want.
What if it did? What if a bunch misfits created an autonomous area in some abandoned industrial park? Other misfits, libertarian hippies and homeless could move there and leave the rest of the city to normal folks.

If the National Guard is called in and that's a big if in the State of Washington. Funny when people start to get snarky with people on the same side - guess this whole thing is getting the best of us. It's making us fight amongst each other which is exactly what they are trying to achieve.
Well, it’s not a shocker that the Seattle Mayor, the entire City Counsel and the Police Chief of Seattle had freely surrendered a part of the city to chaos and anarchy. I would say I feel bad for the residence who live there, but I’m not. I’m pretty sure that they supported this type of activity... In the beginning, until it became a reality, that they now have to live with. So, I guess they can also enjoy the newly found freedom of living without the fears of police oppression that was terrorizing them, every single minute of their “way above average†income lives.
I've never been to Capitol Hill. But I imagine the people who live there as being soft, pampered, upper-income leftists, the type who love to fancy themselves as revolutionaries, without having the slightest clue in the world what this is actually like in real life. If my assessment is accurate, I'm sure that they applauded those brave freedom fighters who came in and banished the occupying army (i.e. the police) and established Nirvana and Utopia.
But now the reality sets in. Now they discover the oppression, the squabbling, the pettiness, the squalor, the inconvenience of living amidst the grungy, uncouth anarchists and nihilists whom you've long applauded from afar. It will take some time for cold hard reality to intrude on their starry-eyed fantasies; but eventually, reality will out. This will probably happen at about the same time that they discover that their precious, trendy little vegan restaurants have been driven out of business by the freeloaders demanding free stuff, or else. In any case, when reality finally does intrude, what then? How will these people feel, trapped in this disgusting carnival of crazy? Will they be able to leave? Will they be able to safeguard their possessions, or will their things have to be sacrificed to the greater good of the greedy little communist-wannabes that have taken over their lives?
I know how I would feel if I were trapped in the hell-scape of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, so in that regard, I do sympathize with the residents. But if my impression of them is accurate, it's hard not to conclude that, perhaps unwittingly, they brought this on themselves. So now they get to see what life is like in the real world of socialism, not the leftist dreamscape of their imaginations. It's hard for me not to come to the conclusion that it serves them right.
These are not the democrats, these are the progressive-socialists that use the democrat label to get a foot in the door like a cancer cell
Well they made it work (taking over the Dem party) and are now in elected positions.
And more are doing it each election in various cities around the US.

Camden is still a wreck and you would drive through it fast with your windows up and the doors locked. Making Camden out to be Mayberry is one of the favorite new propaganda tales of the Left, 99.9% of whom have never even seen Camden and would be hard pressed to find it on a map without help.
Wow! I just took a little tour of Camden on google maps. Just WOW!
Admittedly, the closest I've ever been is a three hour layover at Philly International and another at Newark Liberty. I can't even imagine driving through Camden.
