Who won in this scenario?
That remains to be seen, but since I could find this info on google in five minutes and since this is info the cop should have known, you now have to wonder why the cop did what he did.

As you state, it remains to be seen. Either he's a rogue cop or there's more to the story about what the driver did.

As a side question I have never heard of parking in the wrong direction on a residential street. How does one know which is the proper direction to park. Are their signs or is it common knowledge.

Guess what, you do not have to show your ID to a cop...unless you are under suspicion of committing a crime!!

There is actually a great video of this, where someone calls the police on this guy walking down the street (minding his own business). police approach him and ask for ID, he refuses, and asks what he is suspected of...they continue to ask for ID and he refuses, long story short, a police supervisor eventually came out, and it turned out this guy was a constitutional law expert/ attorney...he was totally in the right!

Parents need to start teaching their kids their RIGHTS (as it relates to dealing with police), instead of just telling them to OBEY and COMPLY with EVERYTHING! Police are most definitely going to use everything they can (within their rights) to detain or arrest you...why should civilians be any different?!

Some people don't understand the concept of public roads. A mile of road costs more than most people make in a life time. When you are on public roads, you have an obligation to follow laws governing the use of those roads. You aren't entitled to break those laws because you are Black.

If you are out and about on foot, skateboard, or bicycle yes, but licenses are required to drive.

I got told that last year. I rolled up and parked on the wrong side of the street, a cop came by as I was getting out, he asked for my license, he looked, and just said to park facing the other way I said ok and we went on our way.

Actually, when driving, you do have to present a valid driver's license upon request.

Parking against the traffic flow, ie, driver would have to be driving towards oncoming traffic to get into that parking position. It’s a stupid rule that police use to mess with you.
