It was never proven that Dr. King was a communist. In fact,
https://www.acton.org/publications/t...cted-communism.

What Dr. King said of Communism.

Quote:
“First, I rejected their materialistic interpretation of history. Communism, avowedly secularistic and materialistic, has no place for God,” he wrote.

Marx’s theory of “dialectical materialism” (and the conjoined theory of “historical materialism”) instead envisioned the human race as a one-dimensional economic creature.

“Second, I strongly disagreed with communism’s ethical relativism. Since for the Communist there is no divine government, no absolute moral order, there are no fixed, immutable principles; consequently almost anything – force, violence murder, lying – is a justifiable means to the ‘millennial’ end,” he wrote.

The second point, closely related to the first, recognizes that anyone who rejects transcendence and revelation must, by extension, deny any universally binding morality. The world then becomes a patchwork of competing moralities, begging the strong to impose their will upon the weak. King consistently disowned those who spoke of prevailing in their political cause “by any means necessary.”

“Third, I opposed communism’s political totalitarianism. In communism, the individual ends up in subjection to the state. … And if man’s so-called rights and liberties stand in the way of that end, they are simply swept aside,” King wrote. “His liberties of expression, his freedom to vote, his freedom to listen to what news he likes or to choose his books are all restricted.”

“Man becomes hardly more, in communism, than a depersonalized cog in the turning wheel of the state,”

And yes, I'm aware he cheated on his wife. I notice that people who bring up "he cheated on his wife" will overlook alot of other nasty things with other people. I notice the individuals who hate Dr. King love Robert E. Lee and the like.

People who have a hatred for Dr. King, I write them off. I don't even bother with them. Not worth talking to.

It's just more psychotic lunacy from the left, shoving this BS "holiday" down our throats.

I will NEVER celebrate their garbage.
Just like that , a new holiday was invented. I had to chuckle at NPR’s update, stating that it “ was the day the Emancipation Proclamation was delivered to Texas” . Like it was delivered today , not way back in the distant past.

I don’t think it is a coincidence that since Saint George died, it all is coming to fruition, and it actually is just starting. Here in CT, Legalized Marijuana on July 1 , and the Bill is on the Governor’s Desk. However it wasn’t going to be signed unless there was some “ equity” built in, to give the communities that were most impacted by the Law on Drugs an opportunity to set up as retail sellers of cannabis products. And the Dems here are proud of that. Saying, see ,look here, we’re the first state to do it. Heroes.

Expect more of this sneaking in of “ equity “ into anything and everything from Democrats. “ Equity” , the new buzz word. The new buzz word introduced by guilty conscience white Progressives , lacking cohesive thought regarding the affects of their handiwork on those they now fashionably point the finger at as being guilty of something they didn’t even realize they were guilty of.

No, I think MLK was a communist - that's not even getting into the horrific way he treated women and how he cheated on his wife. I would never celebrate a communist...ever.
You have a piece of paper that says you paid for 4 years of schooling and passed their classes. I thought colleges were liberal instutions of woke culture?

So MLK cheating is bad, but Trump cheating isn't?

I will just call it like I see it. There are some individuals who wish segregation still existed. Their hate for Dr. King is mainly rooted in that. Dr. King was never proven to be a communist, and Dr. King cheating, well, yes, Trump did that too. One of the reasons I think the hatred for Dr. King isn't really about the cheating.

Few of America's leaders have been saints.

Deprive a group of most of the benefits of capitalism and socialism is what's left.

Nothing, and my mean not one thing, can justify embracing Marxism. And MLK was a Marxist to his core. It is as demonic as it gets, to embrace Marxism.

I actually worked the system - went to school completely for free. Ever heard of a Pell Grant?

I don't get Juneteenth off as a holiday, so I'm like "whatever". What bothers me alot more are some people who decide to turn this into an opportunity for partisan rants and to vent their own partisan and/or racial resentment.

Poster did not say "cheating" he said "treating women". You might want to read up on MLK and how he treated women.

Bit off tangent, but I find it amusing. Much has been pushed in celebrating Juneteenth as a national holiday is the idea of equality.

Yet the main people benefiting financially from this is govt workers who are getting the day off paid.

That doesn’t matter. Democrats would have you believe white people never died to free slaves, the north wasn’t a free state, abolitionists never existed, black Americans were never slave owners, and there weren’t thousands of free black people before, during, and after slavery.

It doesn’t fit their narrative of blacks as permanent victims.

And current K-12 history books reflect exactly what you've posted.
