The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation this week issued new projections for COVID-19 deaths in the United States, anticipating another 200,000 fatalities by March unless mask-wearing increases substantially.
The institute, an independent global health research center at the University of Washington, has issued key forecasts of how the virus will impact the nation and the world throughout the pandemic.
In its latest report issued on Thursday, the institute reported that daily cases are increasing at an accelerating rate with deaths also increasing but at a slower rate.
“Given the experience in Europe, we expect that the increase in deaths will soon begin
to match the increase in cases,” the institute’s latest briefing notes.
That’s because the fall/winter surge is evident in nearly all 50 states at this time, the institute reported.
I recall when we went into isolation exactly 8 months ago today that we were told there would be 2 million deaths by September 2020.
If there are that many deaths by the 1 year anniversary of the China plaque it means the Biden administration really ****ed everything up. They allowed their TDS to change the course that was working under the Trump administration and that decision cost hundreds of thousands of people their lives. Amen. I am in Ct, mask wearing is common. We rank 4th in per capita deaths. 3 neighboring blue states, NJ, NY, and Ma are above us.
We are at 133 deaths/100k, the nation is at 75.8k/100k.
NJ is at 186/100k, Ll Dulce-ville NY at 175/100k.
Mask wearing prevalent in all 3.
I'm in a county with no mask mandate. Majority of people wearing them in stores. Kids have to wear them at school.
Death rate in my county per TOTAL population is 0.07%.
Death rate among cases? 3.2%.
Median age of my county? 57 years old. It's an OLDER population, in an area with kinda crappy healthcare.
Yet death rate? LOW.
Why? Makes no sense.
People need to turn off CNN and just go about their business. If no one knew there was COVID ... would anyone know we have a pandemic? Nope. Not at all.

Amazing how they haven't had any cases or lockdowns since June. I guess they had the cure-all along. This was an act of genocide on China's part. It will never be repaid in kind if Joe Biden is installed as President.
This is completely false information. Europe had the virus under control throughout the summer months but now they are being hit by the winter wave. This has been predicted.
Wearing mask, social distancing, and locking down helps. Do you know the predicted deaths if we didn't do this? Much more than what Europe had.

Another 200K plus dead in 4 months?! Trump had no covid plan and gave up on it...a tragedy. Pray Biden can implement his Covid plan asap, along with a vaccine, and those numbers don't materialize like that.

The most recent data says that cloth masks are protective for both the user of the mask as well as others from the user.
Since it appears that transmission of the virus is mostly droplet (and to some degree aerosol), cloth masks provide enough of a barrier to limit transmission in either direction to be useful in slowing down the spread of the virus.
Of course there are many people who are unable to see why slowing down the virus might actually be helpful in the grand scheme of things. Again, a brief stint in a COVID ward and they would get the picture. But probably nothing short of that would get it through their heads.
No, that is a bee hive. Those are bees attacking the man's unmasked face. He was told he needed to wear a mask but he felt his freedom was more important. Now his face is stung with hundreds of bee stings. It's just like Americans not wearing face masks even though the medical community is telling them to. The US is #1 with COVID infections in the world. FYI, the 'world' is the earth, together with all of its countries, peoples, and natural features. Or, for our Americans, not the USA. Cheers.
