I'm undecided. I'll definitely vote, but I haven't decided how. The fact that Trump disses mail in votes makes me think that is the safest way, but I would hate for them to say my signature didn't match or something like that. I think in person is safest since we have a paper trail, but if that's what Trump wants, it must not be safe.

Will try to vote early, in-person (In Texas). If I don't make it early I'll vote in-person on election day.

That is pretty sad when someone says they have more important things to do than stand in line to vote. We only vote every 2 years and it, to me, is very important!!!

Voting by mail/drop box...as that has been the standard in WA for years.

My intention was always to vote early, in person, as is my usual practice. That is how I responded on this survey. This year I had thought I might also volunteer as an election judge. But that made me think about the possible risk from all of these strangers breathing at me, and the long lines of irritated voters. I am not sure I want to expose myself.

If I don't want to expose myself, then it is rather selfish of me to expect others to do the job and take all of the risk on my behalf.

So I just received an application in the mail to request a mail in ballot. I think I may just do the mail-in ballot (although I would prefer not to). It seems to be the more responsible mode of action.

I can see to many possibilities for error when voting by mail. We have done absentee a few times when we knew we would be on vacation and there are situations where people are truly home bound and have no other potions but to vote by mail. I also know things do go wrong: We were still registered in NM 3 years after we moved here. We could have voted in both states if it was just a matter of filling out a ballot and mailing it in. That is just one example We do vote early though.

I've voted 8 times in the last two years...
PRIMARY 2020 (8/4/2020)
Presidential Primary (3/10/2020)
2019 General (11/5/2019)
2019 Primary (8/6/2019)
General Election (11/6/2018)
Primary (8/7/2018)
April Special Election (4/24/2018)
February Special Election (2/13/2018)

All by mail/drop box in WA.

Prior to living in WA I was in OH. Where we had to stand outside in a line outside of a church which was the polling station. For the presidential elections in November weather that was particularly fun as you were standing out in the cold rain for hours. Many people couldn't take time off work to do that.

Here in WA I just register, get mailed a ballot, and either drop it in the mail or a secure drop box at city hall. Then I can follow up online and verify that my ballot was accepted. Which is more accountability than I had of my in-person vote in Ohio. If the signature on the ballot envelope does not match the one on record they follow up with you.
