Maybe this will inspire other Gulf Arab countries to follow suit. Bahrain? Saudi Arabia? This could usher in a new era.

Let Iran stew. Phhht.

Were you equally critical of Obama? How many homeless people die every year due to the elements?

How many Americans have actually died due to COVID 19? Does anyone really know? I ask because over seas the accounting method the US uses is a joke. On our local news they actually made a joke. If you have life insurance and need money for your family, go to the USA and walk in front of a bus. They will call it a Covid death. Your insurance will pay out.

That is sad.

Back on topic.

This peace agreement matters. Think of countries as pieces on a chess board. Israel and the UAE making a treaty may not put Iran into check, but it certainly gives the UAE much needed muscle if they need it. A player Iran felt confident would be a pushover, just became something more. That is why it matters. Sort of like when Russia and Cuba became allies. We didn't care spit about Cuba before that.

Its UAE along with some rich Saudis and the Iranians.

The way I see it what significant event has taken place that would cause the ME to change ?

The US is only importing about 3% of its oil and only 6% of that import is from Saudi Arabia, that very little from the ME and not a reliance or hostage situation.

For those of us who remember the energy crisis and the gas lines of the 1970s, this is breathtakingly good news.
