For all you hand-wringers who think pedophilia is being "normalized" go watch a movie called "Pretty Baby" that came out in the 70s.
Not only would that movie be impossible to make today, you'd probably get arrested just for the script.
Pedophilia is not being normalized. In fact, we're more hysterical and vigilant about "pedohpilia," "child sexual abuse," and "sex offenders" than we've ever been.

Glad to see you've kept up with what's going on out there that you have to reference one movie from the 1970's that probably WOULD be aired today.

You're insane if you think that movie would be allowed to be made today. The movie that's the subject of the thread seems to be far tamer, and look at all the backlash it's creating.
While the plot doesn't seem to be too crazy, the age range is way out of whack, also it doesn't make sense that someone would go from being a Senegalese hijabi to twerking with basically no clothes at 11 (what I got from the horrendous poster). If it was just modern dance and a much older age range say 15-18 it would make more sense plot wise and wouldn't seem to subconsciously promote pedophilia.
On Pretty Baby, never watched it but the plot is a jail sentence imho. A movie about a 12 year old prostitute. The director would be charged for child grooming the actor, who the hell green-lighted it. It must be some weird indie film. I know their near porn films today but everyone I've heard of always involved adult actors portraying high schoolers, and often seniors.

Well - if I read the depictions correctly, one has a pre-teen as victim, one has a pre-teen with some dort of agency? They seem to be very far apart.
Can we perhaps get beyond the idea that depiction equals acceptance, let alone normalization? Shakespeare didn't advocate killing your brother to become king.

Pretty Baby was not intended to be titillating - why is this so hard? And if it has that effect on - anyone - the problem is on them.
I'm very amazed that so many people find this surprising. I guess there are many people that have never had a daughter take dance lessons at one of the local dance "academies."
That sort of costume and dancing, including twerking is part of the curriculum at even younger ages than in that show. Have a look at some of their websites and facebook pages, and find pictures no different from that poster.
Yeah, and why do you think these places are having the young girls dance like that?!! Next time, take a look around at one of the shows/contests and see the make up of the crowd, chances are, alot of middle age to older men will be there.
Doesnt take a brain surgeon to see what they are doing, its just another small part in the larger agenda, the goal is to 'normalize adult/minor relationships'. I see this in so many modern movies and Tv shows, its CRAZY!

Hmm, not sure I agree with you on that, in fact, I think there being so many people caught up in this today, is proof positive there is an agenda at work...
I see it all time in modern movies and TV shows, its usually subtle, but sometimes its more direct, there is DEFINITELY an agenda to normalize this, its been on going for decades, they seem to be succeeding too, which is scary.
Another big red flag is modern porn...personally I dont care for it anymore, I used to watch it in my teen years, but not so much as Ive gotten older, however I have noticed they are increasingly advertising 'teenage' or 'barely legal'....the thing is with porn, the people that watch this stuff, always need something new, something MORE offensive/depraved, they develop a tolerance over time...a good example is looking at what was considered 'hard core porn' in the 1980s....compared to hard core porn in 2020, it is a NIGHT AND DAY difference!
If you truly do not believe this is being normalized, I can only suggest you pay closer attention to modern movies and TV shows...its there!
