I can understand that. Personally, I have no problem with a conservative S.C., with one caveat: No overturning Roe v. Wade.
Overturning Roe will not be as bad as you think. In that case, each state will pass their own law regarding abortion. Some states will likely have even more evil laws promoting abortion than they do now. Others, quite a bit less, with quite a full spectrum in-between.

Not if it is illegal federally. What happens when the religious whack-a-loons decide to send in the Feds, ala Portland, to shut down abortion clinics? Of course that will happen, to say nothing of the armed militias who will terrorize the clinics if they continue to operate.

Overturning Roe does not make it illegal federally. It just vacates the Roe v Wade decision. There is no federal law regarding abortion, aside from Roe, which was written not by Congress, but by the SCOTUS.
If Roe is overturned, that would return the responsibility for abortion law back to each of the 50 states.
I'm not sure about everyone else, but I would pick a 6-3 conservative Supreme Court over a Trump re-election. A solid conservative court will do more good for America over the long run than just 4 more years of Trump. Ideally we get both, but I will be happy enough if we just get the 6-3 SCOTUS. Then we can strike down every looney thing the left tries to do.
Make The Supreme Court Great Again!
IF Trump were to lose, a 6-3 majority in the court would be a good parting gift. It would make him losing a little easier. I hope he wins regardless, but have a conservative majority in the court trumps what a President can do overall. A big win for the 2nd amendment and religious freedom.

That is true, and thanks for that, but don't you think the next logical move would be to criminalize abortion? It doesn't seem a stretch to me that this is the natural progression if Roe v. Wade is vacated by the Supremes.

I would be thrilled if they did that. Rather than killing innocent life, we should focus on preventing unwanted pregnancies to begin with. The religious folks should learn to adjust on that and be okay with birth control, rather than baby killing as we have now. It's a much better alternative.
Exactly, which is why we need 6-3, so when the wind blows we still end up with 5-4 in our favor.
