It was criminal tax evasion, it's been going on for many decades, and he knows that he could very well wind up behind bars, along with his siblings (it goes back as far as a family conspiracy to commit tax evasion regarding the inheritance from their father, and much farther). He is fighting for his liberty at this point. If he loses power, he will probably wind up in prison. He has tremendous motive to declare himself dictator for life - dictators don't go to prison while they're in power.

I would say 100% of them the majority of whom also collect disability, SS, and Medicare.

He's been audited regulzrly. If he was doing something illegal, it would have come out well before now, by the IRS charging him

Wanna give us a link about that?

Even if Obama got straight "F's" and dropped out of college, it still wouldn't be as bad as Trump's game with the IRS and more importantly, with the American people.

And, no, the story is not bad. He didn’t pay taxes (assuming the story is true) because he was able to claim more losses than profits. So what? Only to the Trump obsessed is that bad.
Bare minimum, it certainly is just more evidence that Trump is a disastrous businessman.

And I'm not sure that Trump and his accountants would file returns with all his shady dealings detailed, so you're shooting for a massive straw man there. The fact that Trump is struggling bigly financially would only incentivize fraud. For example, recall how he was funneling money out of his "charity"? Now we have a better understanding of why.

I pay more taxes than Trump does and I bet most people here pay more, too.

What a scoundrel Trump is.
Unfotunately for the desperate liberal fanatics, 17 years of meticulous IRS audits have turned up nothing. Apparently Trump obeyed every law the IRS and Congress have imposed.

Think how heartbroken the TDS Liberals must be. How many years have they been screaming Trump is hiding something awful... and when somebody finally steals his tax returns and publishes them, they find NOTHING???

I'm curious how NYT found out about it. Who told them this information? How did they locate these tax returns or business records?

So your argument is that Trump is like the Clintons? That should go over well with conservatives, because we know how much they love and respect Bill and Hillary.

Nice attempt at lying about it.
Jeez, you folks really need to read the story you're posting about:

Quote:
Mr. Trump paid no federal income taxes in 11 of 18 years that The Times examined. In 2017, after he became president, his tax bill was only $750.

He has reduced his tax bill with questionable measures, including a $72.9 million tax refund that is the subject of an audit by the Internal Revenue Service.

I'd be careful of just who you accuse of lying.

Not what it says.

Try reading it.

Might know what you’re taking about then.
