First off, men who are attracted to 16 year old developed girls aren't pedophiles.
Secondly, we are kind of strange society in that we are surprised that men are attracted to 16 year old girls. It's vulgar to make a display of it, and uncomfortable for the girl. But it's weird to act like it's not natures way for men to be attracted to healthy young sexually mature teens.
The problem with girls becoming sexually active and getting pregnant when mother nature gives the nod of reproductive maturity is it greatly stunts the girl's potential so that's very harmful to her and her child, and society.
But I think we're one of the very few cultures, and this is new for us, to act like it's a crime against nature for men to find teenage girls sexually attractive.
I am surprised that the left has not embraced pedophiles as just another sexual orientation. I some countries, girls are married off by their families at the age of 12.
Sadly, it is not far off IMO. Look up the term "pedosexual". So far, thankfully, the LGBTQ community has denied adding that to the list of minority group based on sexual preference, but there are pedosexual groups fighting for it. It has already happened in past societies (e.g Greece), so we need to be vigilant about this.

I think it all depends on the girl, but in general at 16 I agree, I would not consider men who find 16 year-olds pedophiles. (now if they act on that, it's a different matter). I'm talking about girls under that age. However, from a human/sex trafficking standpoint, it is still horrific that girls this age (or any age) are forced into that life.
Today there is pressure from the Left, Media, and Entertainment to normalize Pedophilia just like they normalized LGBT which is often just mental illness and sexual deviancy.
The obsession, panic and hypervigilance with pedophilia is a product of the late 20th century Western world. Prior to the last decades of the 20th century, what we call "pedophilia" was either accepted, tolerated, ignored, or swept under the rug.
Have you ever had a 16 year old daughter? If not keep your stupid opinions to yourself. Until they turn 18 they are a child.
My mother was married at 17 and had me when she was 17. My mother and father never divorced and stayed together until my mom’s death of breast cancer (she was 47). The law states they are children and yes many are mentally. It’s a different time now, but I believe society today has “Stunted their growth” philosophically speaking.

While your parents experience was a good one, most girls can't reach full potential if they are married and a mother at 17.

It was not uncommon in the past, when lifespans were shorter, for women to have children in their teens. When you only live to 30 or 40, that's the norm. No, I am not saying that in today's day and age it is good for women to have babies that young.
