If the Priest of Thor wants to marry three men to three women and they all live together, who cares? It's none of the government's business. It always was a religious ceremony pronouncing a couple as "officially together.

That is the Libertarian point of view on the matter and that is the direction the GOP is going -- being dragged kicking and screaming if necessary. Young Republicans are increasingly bringing Libertarian values with them.

But stacking the courts is not what the Republicans are doing. Stacking the courts = adding more members to a federal court. President Obama left a ton of vacancies. Trump and the Republican Senate has simply filled the vacancies. Stacking the courts is what the Democrats intend to do.
Obama didn’t leave a bunch of vacancies by choice. They were blocked and held open by Republicans. As part of their laid out long term strategy in the published platform to undo gay marriage among other things.

Also the Republican Party is being dragged up the authoritarian axis, not down to libertarianism.

You are getting far afield from people who just don't want to be forced to associate with homosexuality and gay marriage in certain instances. Compelling and forcing private individuals to not discriminate isn't the traditional American way to go about it. Most people aren't going to discriminate without some valid reason.

In our country there’s should be NO discrimination! I am a Christian and never, ever did Jesus shun anyone - because —we are all sinners. Rather be friends with a gay couple than self righteous hypocrites! And the country only see a few people pushing to exclude people of their human rights thought legislation. Did the baker have a legal right to say no? Title VII says they must be treated as equals, so end of story. And the Texas lady had a duty- no one should be forced to follow any religious beliefs in a govt institution paid by all tax payers!

Guess live and let live is too much for some people...
It's about forcing private businesses to accept gay marriage and pay benefits when no ones rights have been violated. It is a violation of the property rights of the business owner. The same thing as Jim Crow and it's done by the same party that passed every single Jim Crow law. Consistently at least.

No one is forcing anyone to pretend anything. You can pretend that there is a flying turtle that lives in your yard, no one cares.

What about the rights of the unborn? You can hardly call an entire party "against human rights" when they fight for the most innocent among us.

A question for the conservatives here. Do you really lie awake at night upset that gays and lesbians are getting married? Why do you care? How does this impact you in any way? It’s crap like this that makes me despise “born again” Christian conservatives... Some of the far left kooks really make me scratch my head but I HATE these bible thumping hypocrites. If you are objecting on moral issues then I guess we need to lock up anyone that commits adultery too right? Maybe we can start with the current President and Newt Gingerich.... And sure, you can grab Clinton too.

If you are against same sex marriage don’t marry someone of the same sex, problem solved.

Equal legal standing should be granted to all adults of sound mind, PERIOD. Just because gay men are doing stuff you think is icky doesn’t give you the moral authority to determine whether or not they should have the right to legal marriage.

To digress, many wars and conquests throughout history.

As time progressed, some groups returned to Africa and engaged in wars/conflicts and currently, many parts of Africa does not reflect what Africa looked like during 3000 or 2000 BC.

To return to the original point.

Yes, all persons should have equal protection under the law.

But, frankly, marriage should be reserved for man and woman, a natural union that ensures the perpetuation of the human species.
Given that 40% of births in the US are to single women, we seem to be perpetuating just fine without marriage.

Really? Do tell. What, in your opinion, are “valid” reasons to discriminate??
